ORDINANCE NO. 179 I AH ORDINANCE OF THE C Wi OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, AM)5NDING SroTIO}! 14, OF ORDn!ANCE NO. 152, ENTITLED: IIAN ORDI- NANCE OF THE'CITY OF SEAL BE.!\.CH, CALIF- ORNIA, PROVIDIN~ FOR LICENSING AND RE- GULATING CERTAIN BUSINESSES AND PURSUI'l'S CARRIED ON WITHIN SAID CITY, REPEALING ORDINANCES NOS, W,,53, 55,,91, 94, AND ALL OTHER ORDINANCES nr CONFLICT WITH THIS ORDINANCE AND PIXING PENALTIES FOR THE VIOLA'l'IOl'T HEREOF, AND A!iENDING SIDTION 39 OF ORDINANCE NO. 157,' AS..AMENDED BY SAID ORDINA}!C E NO. 152, AND REPFALING ALL ORDI- NANCES IN CONFLICT HEREI'IITH. The City Council of the City of Seal Beach, Callfornia, do ordain as follows: Section 1. That section 14, ot Ordinance No. 152, An Ordinance of the City of Seal Beach, California, proviQing for licensing and regulating certain businesses and pursuits carried on within said city, be ammended to read as follows: I Section 14. BATHHOUSE - PUBLIC. Every pe~son conduct- ing, managing or carrying on the business of a public bathhouse or shall pay a any public qathroom or public dressing room for hire, , - license tax of Eighteen ($18.00) Dollars, per year, payable maintaining annually, and it said public bathhouse has in excess of one hundred rooms, including both dressing 1'0008, bath rooms and/or lockers, then , such license tax shall be at the rote of ten cents (10~) for each dressing room, bath room and/or locker in excess of one hundred (100) of all such rooms; and, provided further, in event that said public bath house has thirty. five or more dressing rooms and accomodations for such number of bathers, the oper'ator thereof shall maintain a life I" guard at his own expense upon the beach adjacent to such bath house at all times during which bothers are using the accomodstions of such bath house anQ beach. pv> i ng ~ +}ll Section 2. That Section 3, of Ordinance No. 167, amend- Section 39, of Ordinance No. 152, be amended to read as ~ollows: Section 39. FIRFNORKS. ~very person conducting, managing or carrying on the business of maintaining 0 -1- '~or:' -:'.1- Ordinance Number . a stand or place for the sale of fire crackers, fire works, flags, bfltlners, horns and novelties, shall pay I a license tax of Two Hundred Dollars ($200.00) per day for the first stand, and in addition thereto shall pay a license taJt of One Hundred Dollars (~100.00) per day for each branch stand; provided, however, that the license tax required to be paid herein shall not apply to a regularly established businoss or person engaged ln selling or vending such designated articles from a regularly established business, which, for the purpose of this section, shall be defined as 0 place of business which has been operated in the some location for not less than six months, unless, however, an additional I stand is operated by the owner of such established place of business, in which event such merchant shall pay a license tax ot Flve Dollars (e5.00) per day for each such additional stand, and provided further that no portion , . or parcel of the premises of such established place of business shall be rented, let, hired, sublet or leased to a third part, or parties" and no such additlonal stand shall be operated by a person other than the o~ner I of such established place of ausiness; and, provided, further, that no person shall maintain or conduct a stand or place for the sale of such articles within said'City without first securing a permit from the Marshal and Chief of Police so to do; which permit shall ~pecify the location of sai,d stand, or said stand!l, and permit the operation thereof for not exceeding Ten (10) days prior to and three days after the 4th of July of any year. Section 3. All Ordlnances, parts of OrdinQnces and Resolutions in contllct Vlith this Ordinance, are hereby repealed. Section 4.
