The People of the City of Seal Beach, California, do ordain as follows: section 1. That each member of the Board of Trustees and City Council shall receive as compensation for his services O f .. /.A _1f7-d as such member thereof the sum 9/.""9- per month, such compensa~ion to begin on the first day of the month next succeed- ing the canvass of the returns of the General wunicipal Election at ~hich this ordinance is to be submitted to the quplified electors of said City, and the amount so fixed shall, from such date, be a regular charge against such City, payable the same as other fixed salaries are paid. Sec. 2. The Oity Clerk shall cause a reference to this Ordinance, or proposition, to be included in the Notice of Election for the regular municipal ejection to be held on April 14th, 1930, in said City of Seal Beach, Oalifornia, and s~all cause this Ordinance, or proposition, to be printed and shall mail a copy thereof, enclosed in an envelope with a sample ballot to each voter at least ten (lO) days prior to said p.lection, and at said election the City Clerk shall hove printed ballots to be used for vot 1ng upon sa id proposition, in the manner provided under the Initiative and Referendum Act, being an Act to provide faT direct legislation by Cities and Towns, including Initiative and Referendum, in effect July 28th, 19l7, Statutes of 19l7, at page 655, General Laws of the State of California, and any amendments thereto, and if a majority of the qu~Hfied electors vot ing on 1. Ordinance Number '. this Ordinance as prpposed shell vote in favor thereof, such I Ordinance shall thereupon become a valid end binding Ordinance of the City of Seal Beach, california, and be considered ad- opted upon the date that the vote is canvassed and become effective on tho first day of the month next succeeding the vanvass of the return of such General Election to be held in said Oity on April 14th, 193C.
