AN ORDINANCE OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEAOH
DEFINING A PUBLIC NUISANCE WITHIN SAID
CITY AND PROVIDING A PENALTY FOR THE
VIOLATION THEREOF.

The Board of Trustees of the City of Seal Beach do
ordain as follows:

SECTION 1: Every person who maintains, permits or

I allows a public nuisance to exist on his or her premises, and

Ii every person occupying by lease or permission the premises of

II another who permits or allows a nuisance to exist thereon, after

,: reasonable notice has been given by any City Officer or policeman

, to remove or abate or disoontinue the same. within the City of

1'1 Seal Beach, is guilty of a misdemeanor, and upon conviction for a

I violation thereof shall be punished by a fine of not less than

16 !: $3.00 or more than J300.00 or by imprisonment in the Oity Jail
-I;or the County Jail of the County of Orange. for not less than two

18 Ii days nor more than ninety days or both such fine and imprisonment.

SECTION 3: It shall be unlawful for any person or
persons to keep, harbor or maintain any cow, cows or cattle.
swine, pigs, goats, or in excess of twenty rabbits. within five
hundred fee1r'of any residenoe within the,City of Seal Beaoh.
When any of the afore mentioned animals are found running at large
or not picketed so that they oannot reach any sidewalk. street
or highway in said City, it shall be the duty of the pound master
, to impound such animal immediately and before such animal can be

SECTION 6: It shall be a public nuisance for any
person or persons residing within the City of Seal Beach to use
the property belonging to another person without permission of
such owner for dumping purposes or to deposit or bury any waste.
litter. refuse, empty cans, glass or trash of any kind thereon.
SECTION 7: It shall be a public nuisance for any
person to willfully disturb the peace or quiet of any neighbor-
hood or person in said City by loud or unusual noises or offensive
conduct or threatening or ohallenging to fight. fighting or using
vulgar. profane and indecent language, carrying concealed or
otherwise any pistol or revolver, or firing a pistol. revolver,
shotgun or other firearm within the City of Seal Beaoh.

in their possession aqr nitro-glycerine. dynamite, or other high
explosive substances within two thousand feet of any residence or
any other building in the City of Seal Beaoh, exoept where the use
of a high explosive is neoessary for industrial purposes. the

, same may be used by a competent man aocustomed to handling high

'I explosives, upon receiving permission from the City Marshal, but

I at no time shall it be handled in quanti ties greater than ten

person or persons to erect. have. or maintain within fifty feet

of any building in the City of Seal Beach. any building or

direction of the Fire Chief of said City.

SECTION 11: It shall be unlawful for any person

or under the influence of intoxicants, as proved by competent

testimony.

SECTION 12: That the City Clerk shall certify
to the passage of this Ordinance and that thereafter the same
shall be printed once in the Seal Beaoh Post and Wave. a newspaper

of general circulation printed and published in the City of Seal
14
Beach, and thirty (30) days thereafter this Ordinance shall take
15
effeot and be in force.
