. ORDINANCE NO. 105
An Ordinanoe of the City of Seal Beach protecting
seals ~nd sea lions in the City of Seal Beaoh, and
providing a penalty for the violation thereof.
The Board of Trustees of the City of.Seal Beach do
ordain as follo~s:
SECTION 1. It shall be unl~~ful for ~ny person to
thrarr at, molest, disturb, hound uith dogs or otherrrise, or wound,
maim, take, capture, or oripple by seins, set nets, nets, traps,
or other contrivances, or shoot, or in any \iise destroy or uound
~y seal or sea lion in the City of Seal Beach, or in the waters
of any BtloY or inlet .,Ii thin the said City, or in the iTa tel's of the
Paoific Ocean ~iithin the jurisdiotion of the City of Seal Beach.
SECTION 2: Any person violating the provisions 0 f this
Ordinance shal be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor ~nd upon convic-
tion thereof sh~ll be punished by ~ fine of not more than ~300.00
or imprisonment in the County Jail of the County of Or~n~e, for
not Idore than ninety (SO) clays, or by "Joth such fine and imprison-
ment.
SECTION 3. T~t this is an Ordinanoe for the imnedi~te
preservation of the public peaoe eni health, in this: that the
County of Orange did, on the 20th day of May, 1924, repeal
Ordinance sa of saia County, protecting seals ana sea lions in the
~aters of the Paoific Ooean ~ithin the jurisdiction of said'County,
and it is neceesarythat this Ordinance shall take effect anQ be
in force immediately upon its passage, and there is dan~er of a
dist ur bance of the publ!:: pefooe .iTi thin saie. City unless this
Ordinanoe shall take effect at onc~, from persons discharging fire-
armsin shooting at seals uithin said City, and the pUblic health

10 Beach, C~lifornia., and this Ordinance shall immediately take
11 effect an~ be in force from the date of its passage.
