An Ordinance To Amend Section 39Aof Ordinance
No.7 entitled RAn Ordinance of ~he City of
Seal Beach providing for the licensing for the
purposes of revenue and regulation, of the pur-
suits, trades, occupations, avocations, employ-
ments and businesses carried on in the City of'
Seal Beach, and fixing the rates therefor and
penalties for the violation thereof. II
The Board of Trustees of the City of Seal Peach, do or-
dain as follows:

Section 1. That Section 39Aof Ordinance No. 7 of the City
of Seal Beach, California, entitled: RAn Ordinance of the City of
Seal Beach providing for the licensing for t~e purposes of revenue
and regulation, of the pursuits, trades, occupations, avocations,
employments, and busineesss ,carried on in the City of Seal Beach,
and fixing the rates therefor and penalties for the violation there-
ofR, be amended to read as follows:
"Section 3~. For every person, firm, C~npany or Corpor-
ation carrying on the business of plumbing, constructing
or assuming control of any plumbing or house drainage
affecting the sanitary condition of any house or build-
ing situate within the limits of the City of Seal Feach,
$/ f!: per annum, payable yearly in advancej for any
and every person, firm, Company or corporation engaged
in contracting, constructing or assuming control of the
erection or alteration of any building or structure sit-
uate within the l1mi ts of the Oity of Seal Beach, $1 ~~
per annum, pll,'f able yearly in advance; for every tin
smi th, .. J~~ per annum, payable yearly in advance; for
every barber shop in said City, $4,50 per quarter, payable
~ in advance.'"
r Section 2. That this is an Ordinance for the immediate preser-
vation of the public peace in this, that there are numerous con-
tractors working upon structures and buildings in the City of Seal

1 Board of Trustees is info:rn:ed and bel1ves that the Ordinance re-

gulating the same prior to the passage of this Ordinance is invalid
and cannot be enforced, and it is necessary that this Ordinance

4 shall take effect and be in force immediately upon its pasaage
5 as there is danger of a disturbance of the public peace within
6 said City unless this Ordinance shall take effect at once, between
7 the contra$ors having a regularly established place of business
8
in said City, and who pay a license therefor, and outside con-
\
9 tractors who are paying no license to said City.
Section 3. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage
of this Ordinance and that thereafter the same shall be printed
once in the Seal Beach Post and Wave, a newspaper of general
circulation, printed and published in the City of seal Beach,
Oalifornia, and this Ordinance shall immediately take effect and
be i~orce from the date of its passage.
