FOR POLLING PLACES. FIXING THE PRECINCT PLACES, PROVIDING FOR CANVASS OF VOTES. AND FIXING THE DUTIES OF THE CITY CLERK. WHEREAS, pursuant to the provlSlons of the Elections Code of the State of California, certain recall petitlOns were certlf1ed by the City Clerk as contallllIlg sufficient va).ld slgnatures for there to be a recall electlon as to Counc1lmen GEORGEItCLARK,and PAUfrCALVO, wtuch petitions have been ~ . aubmitted to the C1ty Council, and WHEREAS, It 1S necessary that the City Council call a special mun1clpal recall electlon to submit to the voters of the City of Seal Beach the 1ssue as to whether sa1d Counc1lmen shall be recalled, and if recalled, whether they shall be replaced by appomtment or electlon, and WHEREAS, it IS necessary for the C1ty Council to designate the pollmg places for such election, fix the compensatlon to be paid to election officers and rent for the quarters to be used as polling places, and WHEREAS, it is necessary for the C1ty Counc11 to fix the hours for the openmg and closmg of the polls in such electlon, and WHEREAS, it IS necessary for the City Clerk to perform certam dutles m connectlon with such election. NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the C1ty of Seal Beach does resolve as follows: SECTION 1: That pursuant to the election laws of the State of Cal1fornia 1t is hereby ordered, and the City Council does hereby call, a special munlc1pal recall election to be held on the fi7V/,;;rJ/ day Of/J'1'!/:f!! SECTION 8: The City Clerk shall prmt and mall to each voter at least ten days prior to the election, sample ballots upon which shall be printed the statement of the proponents which was published with the intention notice together With and followed by the answer of each officer sought to be recalled. The City Clerk shall cause to be prmted upon the sample ballots the matters required by Sections 11116 and 11117 of the Elections Code. SECTION 9: The City Clerk shall cause ballots prmted for the election in accordance with Section 11118 of the Elections Code and shall otherwise comply With all of the appl1cable prOVisions of the election laws of the State of Cal1fornia in order that such election be held on the date spec1fied.
