The City Council of the City of Sea~ Beach does resolve as foLLows:
SECTION 1: That Section 2 of Resollltion :No. 981 is hereby
amended to provide 'as foLLows:

in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the

shaLL be counted against the adoption of the ordinance or proposition.
"That said ordi.nance shall be known as Ordinance No. 514,
and shall appear on the ballot as Proposition No.1, and said ordinance

Publtc Agency and Board hereby agree as follows:
1. ALL words and terms used herein which are defined in the
State Employees' Retirement.LaW shatt have the meaning
as defined, therein unless otherwise specificatty provided.
"Norm.al retirment age" shatt mean age 65 f9r miscellaneous
members and age 60 for local firemen, local policemen and
county peace officers. '
2. Public Agency shaU participate in the State Employees'
Retirement System from and aft!,rJun, I, 1958, making
its employees as hereinafter provided. members of said
System subject to aLL provisions of the State Employees'
Retirement Law except s\lch as 'apply onLy \In election of
a contracting agency and are not provided fOr herein and'to
all amendments to said Law heraafter enacted except such
as by express provision thereof apply only on the election

of contracting agencies.
Employees of Public Agency in the following cLaSS~;J ,:,hall

4. 1/70 shall be the fraction of final compensation to be provi~ed
for each year of credited current service as a misceLlaneous
member upon retirement at normal retirement age subject
to the modification set forth in Paragraph 5 beLow,
5. Benefits on account of each year of prior service for miscell~
aneous members shall be 100 percent of the fraction of
final compensation provided under Paragraph 4 above.,
6. Any miscetlane'Ous member who, upon retirement for service
before age 65, is fully insured under Federal Old-age,
Survivors, and Disability Insurance may elect to receive
the actuarial equivalent of his unmodified' service retirement
allowance in the form of an increased monthly income until
he reacqes age 65 and a reduced income thereafter in
accordance with the provi.sions of Section 21703v
The following provisions of the State Employees' Retirement
Law which apply only upon election of a contracting agency
shall apply to the Public Agency and its employees:
a. - Sect~on 21252.001 (providing ,for, a guaranteed

percentage of final compensation for each year
of current service).
b. Section 21252,5 (provid:l.ng for a guaranteed percent-
age of final compensatiqn for each'year of current
service for local firemen, locaL policemen., or
county peace officers),
c. Section 20024.01 (defining "final compensation" on
the basis of a period of 3 consecl1tive years),

8, Public Agellcy shalt contibQte to said Retirement System as
fo}~ows:

members for 25 years beginning witll tile effective 'date
of tllis contract on account of the liability for prior
service.
b. Ii. 549 per cent of total satat'iea paid by Public Agency
each month to its employees who arfil and hereafter
become members of said Retirement System, provided

affects the employees of Public Agency, not including
the costs of special valuations or of the periodical
investigation and valuation required by Law, provided
that said amount shatl be deterJhined on the basis of
tile number of employees of PubLic Agency who are
mElmbers on July 1st of the respective fiscal years, or
with respect to the first year of participation, on the
effective date of said participation.
A reaeonable arr.ount as fixed by tile Boa:r:-d, payable
in one instaLLIr..ent as the 'Oocasions arise, to cover

costs of special valnations on account of employees of
Public Agency, and costs of the periodical investigatio
and valuation required by law.

9. Contributions required of Public Agency and its employees
shall be subject to adjustment by Board on account of
amendments to the State Employees' Retirement Law:, and
on account of experience \lnder the Retirement Sy.stem, as
determined by the, pel"iodicaL investigation and vaLuation
required by said Retirement Law.
10. Contributions required of Public Agency and its employees sha 1
be paid by Public Agency to the RetiremeQt System within
thirty days after the end of the period to which sai.d .
contributions refer. If more or less than the correct amount
of contri,butions i-a jpaid for any period, proper adjustment
shall be madEl in connection with subsequent remittances, or
, adjustments on account of errl?r in contributions required of
any employee may be made by direct cash payments between
the empLoyee and BOJl,rd. pa.yments by PiUllic Agency to
Board may ,be made in the form of warrants, bank checka,
bank drafts, certified checks, mon!lY orders, or ca~h.
