WHEREAS, therl!! are grOWiLlg upon the streets or sidewalks or upon
private property within the City of Seal Beach, weeds which bear seeds of a
wingy or downy nature, or attain such large gromh as to become a fire menace
when dry or which are otherwise noxious Dr dangerous upon the streets or
sidewalks in front of, or upon the property h~reinafter described, which the
City Council of the City of Seal Beach do declare to be a public nuisance,
NOW~ THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach does

SECTION 1: That the City Council of said City does hereby decLare
aU weeils growing upon the streets Dr sidewalks in front of, or upon, the
private property on the following streets within said City of Seal Beach to be a
public nuisance; that the streets within said City and the lot and block numbers
of the property on or in front of which such nuisance exists, are as follows:

front of which such. nuisance exists, one notice to each parcel of property
in separate ownership of not over 50 foot frontage, or not more than tw
notices to any piece or parcel of property in separate ownership with a frontage

of 100 feet or less. If the frontage or any piece or parcel of property in
separate ownership is greater than 100 feet, notices shall be posed at not
more than 100 feet apart. Such notice shall be headed "Notice to Destroy

Weeds", such heading to be in words not less than one inch in height and
I'fubstantially in the following form:
"NOTICE TO DESTROY WEEDS"
Notice is hereby given that on the 3rd,daY. of:Mar.ch;.1,9,59 '
the City Council of the City of Seal Beach passed a resolution
declaring that noxious or dangerous weeds were growing upon
or in front of the property on this street, and more particular-
ly described in said resolution, and that tbe same constitutes
a public nuisance which must be abated by the removal of said
noxious week.s, otherwise they will be removed and the nuisance
will be abated by the municipal authorities, in which case the
cost of such removal shall be assessed upon the lots and lands
from which or in front of which such weeds are removed, and
such costs will constitute a lien upon such lots or lands until
paid. Reference is hereby made to said resoll1tion for further
particulars. All property owners having any objections to tbe
proposed removal of S\lch weeds are hereby notified to atten!i
a meeting of the City Council of the City of Seal Beach to be
held on the 21st day of April, 1959, at the hour of 7:30 P.M.
o'clock, when their objections wilL be heard and given considera-
tion.

SECTION 3: That the proceedings herein provided for shall be had
and taken under and in accordance with an Act of the Legislature of the State
of California" entitled "Act 5197, Deering's General ~aws, Statutes 1915",
Page 814, by Statutes 1947, Chap~(;!r 341, amended by At'ticles 1, 2, and 3
of Chapter 13, Governmen~ Code, and as' otherwise amended.
SECTION 4: That after final action has been taken by the City Council
on the deposition of any prtests or objection6, Dr in case no protests or
