".~ -, RESOLUTION NO.~ A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, CALLING AND GIVING NOTICE OF ~HE HOLDING OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION TO BE HELD IN SAID CITY ON TUESDAY, THE 12TH DAY OF APRIL, 1960, FOR THE ELECTION OF CERTAIN OFFICERS OF SAID CITY AS REQUIRED BY THE PROVISIONS OF THE LAWS OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA RELATING TO GENERAL LAW CITIES AND FOR THE SUBMISSION TO THE QUALIFIED ELECTORS OF SAID CITY OF A CERTAIN QUESTION, PROPOSITION OR MEASURE RELATING TO THE POSITION OF CHIEF OF POLICE AND SALARIES OF CITY COUNCILMEN. WHEREAS, under the provisions of the laws relating to general law cities in the State of California, a regular general municipal election shall be held on the 12th day of April, 1960, for the election of two members of the City Council of said City for the full term of four years; a City Clerk of said City for the full term of four years; and a City Treasurer of said City for a full term of four years. WHEREAS, the City Council of said City also desires to submit to the qualified electors of said City at said election the question, proposition or measure relating to the position of Chief of Police and salaries of City Councilmen hereinafter set forth; NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, DOES HEREBY RESOLVE, DECLARE, DE'l'ERMlNE AND ORDER AS FOLLOWS: SECTION 1. That pursuant to the requirements of the laws of the State of California relating to General Law Cities within said State, there shall be, and there is hereby called and ordered, held in the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State of California, on Tuesday, the 12th day of April, 1960, a regular general municipal election of the qualified elector~ of said City for the purpose of electing two members of the City Council of : ~ -' Resolution Number 'J ~ '; . ..' SECTION 2. That said City Council pursuant to its right and authority so to do, do,s hereby determine that there shall be and there is hereby ordered submitted to the qualified I I electors of said City at said regular general municipal election the following question, to wit: Proposition No. 1: Shall Ordinance No. 552 of the City of Seal Beach amending Section 4 ot Ordinance No. 476 by exempting from the provisions ot Ordinance No. 476 the position of Chief of Police of the City ot Seal Beach, be adopted? YES . NO : . . . , . . Proposition No. 2: Shall Ordinance No. 553 of the City of Seal Beach increasing the compensation of each City Councilman to the sum of $100.00 per month, be adopted? NO : . YES : . . , , . . A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the word "YES" in the manner hereinbefore provided shall be counted in favor of the adoption of the question or proposition. A cross (+) placed in the voting square after the word "NO" in the manner hereinbefore provided,shal1 be counted against the adoption of the question or ,pX'oposition. SECTlON 3.' That the ballots to De used at said election shall be; both as to form and matter contained therein, such as may be required by law to be used thereat. SECTION 4. The rental for each of such polling places where a charge is made, shall be the sum of $10.00 Dollars for said election. SECTION 7. That the polls for said election shall be open at seven o'clock A.M. of the day tif said election and shall remain open continuously from said time until seven o'clock P.M. of the same day, when said polls shall be closed, except as provided in Section $734'of the Elections Code of the State of California. That the City Clerk shall certify to the passage and adoption of this Resolution; shall enter the same in the book of original Resolutions of said City; and shall make . minute of the passage and adoption thereof in the records of the proceedings of the City Council of said City, in the minutes of the meeting at which the same is passed and adopted.
