WHEREAS, Section 21;0 ot the Streets and Highway Code authorizes a County, it it so desires, to expend funds apportioned to it out of California Highway Users' Tax Fund for aid to cities in the improvement, construction or repair ot a street within a city, provided that the Board of Supervisors ot such County, determine that the project is in the general County interest; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, that the City ot Seal Beach hereby requests the County of Orange for a grant of aid in the sum of.:S8J.,O' ~ out of the County's apportionment of the California Highway Users' Tax Fund, the amount requested to be used exclusively for the following purposes: 1. - The repair of Ocean Avenue, situated as designated on Exhibit "A" hereof. 2. - The nature and exteQt-~the project and the estimated cost thereot are substantially as follows: The portion of Ocean Avenue which is in need ot repair is from a point beginning at the intersection of Ocean Avenue and Main Street, extending Westerly -1- - I I I . .. - 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 10 11 12 13 14 15 16 17 18 19 20 21 22 23 24 25 26 27 28 29 30 31 32 DANA R. Resolution Number- on Ocean Avenue to the intersection of Fifth Street, the surface of the present street is now shattered and pitted and becoming dangerous to traffic. It is proposed to resurface the above described street, and that the estimated cost of improvement is as follows: Plant mix surfacing,~tons at $~.OO..........~.~.OO~ Laying of mixture at . ... .. . ... .'... ItJ2,~..o BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange be and it is hereby requested to find that the repair of Ocean Avenue in the manner aforesaid is in the general County interest in that; It is a street of major importance running along the ocean-front in the City of Seal Beach on the principal street connecting the City of Seal Beach with the City of Long Beach. This street is now carrying large portions of the traffic from Long Beach to Seal Beach. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the grant of aid hereby requested is contingent upon an independent finding by the Board of Super- visors of the County of Orange that the purpose for which aid is hereby sought is in the general County interest. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that it is understood that upon the acceptance by the City of Seal Beach of any grant which may be made by the County of Orange, pursuant to this request, this Resolution, the Resolution of the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange specifying the terms and conditions of the grant, and any and all laws applicable, shall constitute the Agreement between the City of Seal Beach and the County of Orange respecting -.=.,---.~~;....~:,~- the grant. BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED AND ORDERED, that the City Clerk of the City of Seal Beach be and he is hereby directed to forward a certified copy of this Resolution to the Board of Supervisors of the County of Orange, State of California.
