TaL.PHoNB 81.8t98 Resolutiop Nu~er 1 WHEREAS, as provided by the Government Code of the State 2 of California, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach desires 3 to submit the question whether the aforementioned territory shall 4 be excluded, to the city electors of the City of Seal Beach at a 5 special election held for that purpose; and 6 7 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of hereby fix the B/ G.!;ay of 5n~) , 195'3, Seal Beach does as the date upon 8 which such special election shall be held; and 9 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to designate 10 the voting districts and places for such special election and to 11 fix the compensation to be paid to election officials and rent for 12 the quarters used as polling places; and 13 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to appoint 14 two Judges and one Inspector for each voting place, as election 15 Officers, and 16 WHEREAS, it is necessary for the City Council to fix the 17 hours for the opening and closing of the 'polls for such election. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Seal 19 Beach does resolve as follows: SECTION ~: That pursuant to the laws of the State of California, it is hereby ordered, and the call a special election to be held on the City Council does hereby .i/~ day of ~~ 1953, for the purpose of voting upon the proposition for exclusion or against exclusion of the aforementioned territory. SECTION 2: That the polls shall be opened at the hour of 8:00 o'clock A.M., of said election day and shall be kept open continuously until the hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M., of such day, when the polls shall be closed. SECTION ~: That the City Clerk of the City of Seal Beach is hereby authorized and directed to comply with all the app' able provisions of the Government Code and the Elections Code of 'l.he State of California in order that said proposition shall be sub- -2- I I I DANA R.
