RESOLUTION NO. ~J?
A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF
THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DECLARING THE
RESULT OF A GENERAL MUNICIPAL ELECTION
4 WHEREAS, a general municipal election was held and conducted m
6 the City of Seal Beach, County of Orange, State of Califorma, on Tuesday, the
8 13th day of April, 1954, as required by law, and
7 WHEREAS, lt appears that notice of said election was duly given
8 and regularly glVen; that voting precincts were properly established, that eLec-
9 hon offlcers were appointed and elechon supplieS furnished and that in all re-
10 spects said election was held and conducted and the votes cast thereat received
11 and canvassed and the returns thereof made and declared m Lhe time, form and
12 manner required by the Laws of the State of California governing elections in
13 cities of the Sixth Class, and
14 WHEREAS, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach met at the
16 Council Chambers of the City Council on Tuesday, the :loth day of April, 1954,
18 at ltS regular meeting on said day to canvass the results of said election, as a
17 result of which the Clty Councll of sald City finds and determines that the numb r
18 of votes cast for and agalnst the Propositions appearing on the ballot, for each
19 candldate for the office of City Councilman and other matters required by law
20 to be as hereinafter stated;
21 NOW, THEREFORE, the City Council of the City of Seal Beach does
22 resolve as follows:-
23 SECTION .1: That said general municipal election was held and con
24 ducted in the Clty of Seal Beclch on Tuesday, the 13th day of April, 1954, in the
26 torm, time and manner required by law; that there were eight (8) voting precmc s
28 estabhshed for the purpose of nolding sald general municipal election, consist-
27 ing of the precincts established for holding county and state elections.

Sllall the ordinance making it unlawful to drllL for, or erect,
construct or install any derriCK, machmery or apparatus for
the purpose of drilhng for or producing oil, gas or other hydro-

13 SECTION 5: That the majority of votes as to Proposition No. 1 wer
14 in the affirmative and Proposition No. 1 shaLL hereafter be in fuLL force and ef-
16 fect as provided by its terms and provisions and the Laws of the State of Califor
18 nia; that the majority of ;votes cast as to Proposition No. 2 were in the negative
17 and that such Proposition was defeated and not adopted; that the majority of vote
18 cast as to Proposition No. 3 were in the affirmative and Proposition No. 3 shal
19 hereafter be in fuLL force and effect as provided by its terms and provisions and
20 the Laws of the State of California; that the three (3) candidates recei.~ng the
21 highest number of votes are Paul F. Calvo, George H. Clark and Fred Flanag
22 and each is declared to be elected to the office of City Councilman.
23 SECTION 6. The City Clerk is authorized and directed to sign and
24 deliver to each person elected a certificate of election and administer to each
26 person so elected the oath of office prescribed in the State Constitution; the City
28 Clerk is further authorized and directed to enter upon the records of the City
27 Council the whole number of botes cast in the City, the names of the persons
28 'voted for, the measures voted upon, for what office each person was v.oted for,
29 the number of votes given at each precinct to each person, and for arid against
ISO each measure, and the number of votes given in the City to each person, and fo
31 and against each measure.
