RESOLUTION NO. #17 A RESOLUTION OF 'lHE CI'lY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA, IN COMMEMORATION OF THE PASSING AWAY OF FRA.:NK L. WILSON ON JANUARY 21st, 1943. WHEREAS, FRA.:NK L. WILSON of Seal Beach, California, passed away on January 2lst, 1943; and, WHEREAS, FRA.:NK,1.....WILSON, was born on the 7th day of August, l872, at Green Castle, Indiana; he served his coUntry as a soldier in the Spanish American War and later came to Seal Beach fram Pasadena, California, in the year 19l9; and, WHEREAS, said FRANK L. WILSON was appointed City Judge of ih e Ci W of Seal Beach in Augu st of 1928 and sezrved in tha t office with distinc tion until April, 1930, when he was elected to the City' Council of ihe Ci1i}r of Seal Beach, receiving'the hignest number of votes of six candidates for the office of councilman; he was appointed MaJor on April 21st, 1930, and served in that capacity' until April, 1932, when he retired from public life. During the years that Mr. Wilson resided in Seal Beach, he was active in the political and public life of the community' and sezrved the citizens of Seal Beach wi th honor and distinction in the various offices held by him. Mr. WILSON is survived by his widow, THERESIA WILSON of Seal Bea.ch, his son, WILFERD F. WILSON, now sezrving in the United States Navy, his son, EDWIN G. WILSON of Huntington Beach, California, his sister, Miss JA1-lNE'l'l'E WILSON of Reedley, California, his sister, Mrs. ADA VENARD of Antonia, Colorado, --Page One-- I' 1- , I Resolution Number ;:. ... . ...... "" .. ' . . together with four grandchildren. Funeral services were cond ucted on Saturday, January 2Srd, 1943, with interment at Angeles Abbey, Compton, California. NON, mEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: Tha t the City Council of the City of Seal Beach in order to commemarate the memory of the late FRANK L. WILSON, former Mayor of the Ci~ of Seal Beach, and a tireless civic worker for its advancement in civil government; and, BE.IT FURTHER RESOLVED: That the Ci~ Clerk be directed and requested to spread this Resolution on the Official Records of this City, in order that the memory of this beloved past City Official and honored citizen ma;r be perpetuated, and that copies thereof be sent to his i--elatives as an expression of sympathy. I HEREBY CERTIFY that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the Ci ~ Council of the City of Seal Beach, California, at an adjourned regular meeting thereof held on the 28th day of January, 1943, by the following vote of the members thereof.
