RESOLUTION NO.~
Whereas Chapter 20, First Extraordinary Session, 1946,
of the California State Legislature, appropriates certain state
funds to be allocated to cities for construction of pUblic improve-
ments; and
Whereas the City of Seal Beach is entitled to receive
from the State of California certain funds by reason of said Act;
and
Whereas the official federal census for the year 1940
determined that the population of the City of Seal Beach was 1,,~;
and
Whereas the Federal Census Bureau made a special census
of the population of Seal Beach for the year 1944 which resulted in
a federal census finding that the population of the City of Seal
Beach was 2,914 persons; and
Whereas, the City of Seal Beach is entitled to have allo-
cated to it the sum of $8.91 per pers9n according to the 1940 census;

NOW, THEREFORE, be it RESOLVED by the City Council of
. the City of Seal Beach that the City of Seal Beach does hereby
request that the State of California, when said allocation of moneys
is arrived at, use the 1944 special federal census figure of-2,914
population as a basis for determining the amount of funds to be al-
