A RFSOLUTION PURSUANT TO ORDINANCE NO. 194
ORDINANCES OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ADOPrED BY
THE CITY COUNCn. ON THE 31st DAY OF OCTOBER, 1935,
AUTHORIZING THE STREET SUPERINTENDENT OF SAID CITY
TO ABATE A NUISANCE AT 116 TWELFTH STREET OF SAID
CITY BY REASON OF UNSAFE AND INSECURE CONDITION OF
THE WILDINGS LOCATED THEREAT.
WHEREAS. there is in full force and effect in the City of Seal
Beach. California, Ordinance No. 194 adopted on the 31st day of October,
1935, defining certajn public nuisances and providing for the abatement
thereof; and,
WHEREAS, the Orange County Health Officers and the City
Engineer of the City of Seal Beach have informed the City Council of the
City of Seal Beach in writing that the real estate hereinafter described
has been allowed to become in an unclean, and unsanitary condition and that
the buildings located upon said real estate have become unsightly, unsafe
and insecure through lack of repairs and have become detrimental to the
health and safety of the citizens of the City of Seal Beach.
NOW, THEREFORE, as prOVided by Section 20 of Ordinances No.
194 the City Council does order as follows: That a notice be posted upon
said above described premises and a copy ci: the same mailed by registered
mail to the last knOilIl address of the record owners, lessees or occupants
of the said premises, directing said owners, lessees or occupants to remove.
abate or destroy the unsightly and partially destroyed buildings upon said
premises, said notice to provide that said buildings be removed, abated or
destroyed by the said owners, lessees or occupants on or before the 30th
day of Apr1ill, 1948. Said notice shall further provide that uhless said
owners, lessees or occupants shaD. remove, abate or destroy said buildings
from said premises as provided in said notice. that the Street Superintendent

of the City of SeaJ. Beach and assistants of said City shaJ.l be directed to

remove, abate or destroy the same at the expense of such ownere, lessees or
occupants of said premises, and the expense of the removal, abatement and
destruction thereof shall become a 'lien upon such buildU1g, structure and
real property upon 1Ihich the same is situated.
It is further ordered by the City Council that in the event

said owner, lessee or occupant shall neglect, fail or refuse to remove, abate
or destroy said buildings from said premises not later than Aprlt.ll. 30, 1946,
that the street Superintendent and assistants of said City are hereby author-
ized to remove, abate or destroy the same and saJ.d Street Superintendent shall
compute the entire cost of removaJ.. abatement or destruction of said buildings
and as soon as said costs is computed said Street Superintended shall post a
notice on the bulletin. board of the City Hall of the City of Seal Beach,
which notice shaD. contain a statement of the cost of removal, abatement

or destruction of said buildings, which notice shall be posted for at least
five (5) dqs, and at the next regular meeting of the City Council after the
expiration of five (5) days from the date of the posting of said notice, the
City Gounci3; shall be presented with said report for approval and said City
Council shall at said regular meeting approve or disapprove said report and

if said report is approved by said City Council the City Council shaJ.l there-
upon adopt a resolution or ordinance approving said report and declaring that
the expense of abatement, removal or destruction of said building shall be-
come a lien upon said buildings and the real property upon which the same are
situated.

The premises upon which said buildings are located are known as
116 Twelfth Street in the City of Seal Beach, California and more particularly
described as follows 1 Lot 16, Block 12, Bay City Tract, Miscellaneous Map
Book No.3,
