Resolution Number 1 City of Seal Beach; that Thursday, th~ 17th day of May,1934,at the 2 hour of 8:00 o'clock P.M.,of saId day,is the dsy and hour, and the 3 councIl chamber In the City Hall Building of the City of Seal Beach 4 is the place fixed by the City CounCil, when and where any and all persons hav~ng any objection to the proposed removal of weeds may appear before the City Council and show cause why saId work should not be carried out in accordance with thIs resolution. That the proceedings for the aforesaid improvements shall be had and taken under and In accordance with an Act of the Legis- lature of the State of California designated and known as"Act 5197" being an act authorizdng munIcIpalities to declare noxious or dan- gerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon private property within municipalIties, to be a public nuIsance, creating a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon whIch such nuisance exists for the cost of abating the same, and approved May 26,1915. That SUbsequent to the said hearing the City C&uncl1 shall order the Street Superintendent to abate said nuisance ~y having th weeds referred to removed In the manner provided by law, and the cost thereof Shall be a lien upon the property frontIng upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exIsts for the cos of abating the same, which amount shall be added to the respective assessments for taxes against the respective lots and parcels of land for municipal purposes and collected at the same time and in t e same manner as ordinary munIcIpal taxes are col~ecte~ a~~ B~~l Q~ subject to the same penalties and the some procedure under foreclos re in cases of delinquency as provided for ordinary municipal taxes.
