I'J '.~ RESOLUTION NO.&~ A RESOLUTION OF THE OITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFOIDm, ASCERTAINING AND DETERMINING THE GENERAL PREVAILING RATE OF PER DIEM WAGES IN SUCH LOCALITY FOR A CERi'AIN PUBLIC IMPROVEMENT PROJlroT FOR WHICH BONDS HAVE BEEN VOTED AND UNDER THE FEDERAL ElvlERGEIDY ADIlINISTRATION OF PUBLIC WORKS. WHEREAS, the qualified electors of the City of Seal BeaCh, California, on March 29th, 1935, by the necessary two-thirds ~otll, approved the issuance of bonds of said City for the acquisition, construction aDd completion of a certain proposed municipal Im- provement; towit: A Breakwater and/or Jetty; and, WHEREAS, the General Laws of the St~e of CalifornIa reqUire and the Rules and Regulations of the Fffgral Emergency Adm1nlstra- tion of PublIc Works direct that the said CIty ascertain and de- termine the general prevailing Ilate of per dIem wages, and rates for overtime and legal holidays, in such locality In which this work Is proposed for each craft or type of workmen or mechanic needed to execute the contract for the work of construction of such proposed municipal improvement; and, NOW, ~~~RE, the City Council of th~ City of Seal BeaCh, Oalifornia, does hereby resolve; as follows: Section 1: That pursuant to the General Laws of the State of California and/or local laws thereto applioable# and the Rules and RegulatIons of the Federal Emergency AdmInistratIon of Public Works, the City of Seal Beach, has ascertaIned and determined, and does here- by determine that the general prevailIng rate of per diem wages# and rates for o~ert1me and legal holIdays, in this locality and in said 01ty In which the work of the acquIsition, construction and completion _ _qf the here~nbefore proposed municipal improvement, is to be performed for each craft or type of workman or mechanic Ileeded tel execute the--- -. contract for such constructIon work; are determined;as follows;towit: Per DIem Wage Hourly Wage Rate Rates forLegal Holidaya and Overtime. t/' Trade or Occupation Blacksmiths Bridge Foreman(worklng) Carpenter Foreman'working) Orane Operator HoIst Operato'l' Dragline Operator Labor Foreman(working) Laborer#Skllled,lst Class Laborer Locomotive EngIneer MachInist Machinlst# Repair Power Machine Operator Steamfitter,Foreman(working) Steamfitter Teamster Tractor Operator Truck Driver(Gross Weightf Truck & Load, 6T.or more} Truck Driver(Gross Weight, Truck & Load, less than 6 T.) Resolut1on Number ,;} . I.. . .. . .~ I Any craft or empl,yment not specifically mentioned in the foregoing schedule of rates shall be paId not less than $0.45 per hour. Section 2. The foregoing schedule of per diem wages is based upon a working day of elght(8) hours. The hourly wage rate prescribed hereinabove is the per dIem rate divided by the aforementIoned mumber of hours constitutIng the working day. It shall be mandatory upon the contractor to whom the contract is awarded, and upon any sub-contractor under him, to pay not less than the said specIfied rates t' all labor- ers, workmen and mechanIcs employed by them in the execution of the contract; and further, that 1m no event, and regardless of the deter- mination of the general prevailing rate per diem wages as here above set forth, shalJ employees directly employed on this work be paid less than the minimum wage rates prescribed by the Federal Emergency Ad- ministration of PublIc Works. Section 3. The City Clerk shall certify to the adoption of this ResolutIon and forward three(3)certlfled c'pies thereof to the State (Director.
