WHITE, A MEMBER OF SAID CITY COUNOIL, ON JANUARY 17TH, 1936. WHERE.~S, Loule J. White, a member of the City Council of' the City of' Seal Beach, Calif'ornia, passed away on January 17th, 1936; and WHEREAS, the dcceased was at the time of' his death the be- loved husband of Louise \fuite, is also survived by a half-sister, ~Mrs.Constanoe Ponso of San Pedro, Calif'ornis; was born in the , ,iState of' New York on March 29th, 1875, came to Southern Calif'ornia at the age of' eight years and was one of' the early pioneers of' San Pedro~ Wilmington and Los Angeles where he was looated in busi- ness, he,later moved to Seal Beach about fourteen years ogo,and at the time he was called to the great beyond he was actively associated with ~.~.~upf'erle in the operation of the Anaheim Landing Bay summer colony and "cabins in said City of Seal Beach, in all of' which com- munities~ouie White Gathered about him f'riends without number; NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED: that the City Council of' the City of ~eal Beaoh in order to commemorate the memory of the late Louie J. White, a true friend and a f'aithful public servant, who was appointed to serve uppn the City Council of' said City on August 1st, 1935, attended faithfully its sessions until January l7th,1936 and at the oonclusion of a speoial meeting held on that evening at ~hich the council were oonsidering bids upon a Waterworks System for the City, a Federal Emergency Public Works Proj~ct.~nd a public im- provement tD whioh he gave his whole hoarted support, ho suddenly came to his demlse;al1d, though he had been upon the City Council for a comparatively short time, he filled such position with honor and dignity, giving freely of his time, abilit~, rendering on lnvaluable servioe to his City, the entire oommunity in which he lived and was highly rospected, b~th as a public servant of' the people and a civic worker when not in public office; and, BE IT FURTHER HESOLVED: that the City Olerk be direct~d"and 1. . I I I Resolut~on Number ,', '. . requested to spread this Resolution upon the Official Records of this City in order that the memory of' this belovod member of' this City Council may be perpetuated and that copies hereof' be sent to his widow and sister as an expression of sympathy. I hereby certify that the foregoing Resolution was regularly introduced, passed and adopted by the City Council of' the City of' Seal Beaoh. California, at a regular meeting thereof held on the 6th day of February, 1936, by the f'ollowing vote of' the members thereof: Ayes; Counoilmen: Green, Hussey, Waidler, Hughes Noes; Councilmen: None Absent; Councilman: Louie J.
