WHEREAS, there are growing upon the streets or sidewalks or upon private property within the City of' Seal BBach,Calif'ornia, weeds which bear seeds of' windy or downy nature, or attain such a large growth as to beoome a fire menaoe when dry or which are otherwise noxious or _ ~_ngerQuJ!U~PO.ILthe .stree.t_s or sidewalks in .fJ:'ont .of,___or.. upon the .property hereinafter desoribed, which the City Counoil of the City of Seal Beaoh do hereby deolare to be a publio nuisance; RESOLVED, THEREFORE: That the Oity Council of the City of' Seal Beaoh do hereby deolare all weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks in f'rmnt of, or upon, the private property upon the following streets within the Oity of Seal Beach to be a public nuisanoe. That the prooeedings for the aforesaid imprOVliml&nts shall be had and taken under and in aogcrdanoe with an Aot of' the Legislature of the State of California des&gnated and known as "Aot 5l97"be1ng an "Aot authorizing Municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon private property within municipalities, to be a nuisanoe, oreat:l.ng alien upon the property f'ronting upon such streets,. or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists for the cost of abating the same~ and Approved,May 26th,19l5,together with any Aots Amendatory or Supplementary thereto. That subsequent to the said hearing the City CouDoil shall order the Street Superintendent to abate said nuisance by having the weeds referred to removed 1n the manner provided by law, and the oost thereof shall be a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists f'or the cost of' abating the same, which amount shall be added to respective assessments for taxes against the respective lots and parcelsmof land f'or munioipal purposes and collebted at the same time and in the same Manner as ordinary munioipal taxes are collected and shall be subjeot to the same penalties and the same prooedure under fore- closure in eases of' delinquency as provided for ordinary municipal taxes. The City Olerk shall certify to the adoption of' this resolution by the C1ty Council of the City of Seal Beach,California, and thereupon it shall take effect.
