RESOLUTION NO. 182
A RESOLUTION OF THE TRUSTEES AND CITY COUNCIL,
OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH ORDERING THE STREET
SUPERINTENDENT TO ABATE A CERTAIN NUISANCE
CONSISTING OF NOXIOUS AND DANGEROUS WEEDS
HERETOFORE DECLARED TO BE A PUBLIC NUISANCE.
WHEREAS, the Trustees and City Council of the City of Seal
Beach. did on the 19th day of March, 1931, at a regular maeting of
such Council, duly adopt Resolution No. 181, and thereby declared tha
all weeds growing upon streets and sidewalks. in front of or upon
private property upon certain named streets within said City of Seal
Beach, to be a public nuisance, and in such Resolution did more par-
ticularly describe such streets in said city and the lot and block
numbers of the private property on or in front of which said nuisance
exists; and
WHEREAS, the said Street Superintendent, as in said Resolu-
tion directed, has caused to be conspicuously posted in front of the
property on which or in front of which such nuisance exists a notice
entitled, "Notice to Destroy Weeds". as by law provided; and
WHEREAS, the posting of such Notices was fully completed on
or before the 27th day of March, 1931. by said Street Superintendent.
and more than five days prior to the 2nd day of April, 1931, at the
hoUl' of ':80 o'clock P. M., the day and hoUl', and at the Council
Chamber in the City Hall of the City of Seal Beach, the place fixed
by said Trustees and City Council for the hearing by all persons
having any objections to the proposed removal of such weeds, ahd the
abatement of sp;ch nuisance; and
WHEREAS, no person has appeared to object thereto.
NOW. THEREF~RE. B~ IT RESOLVED, that the Street Superinten-
dent is hereby instructed to abate said nuisance by having the weeds
referred to in said Resolution No. 181 and such notice entitled,
"Notice to Destroy Weeds" removed and he and his assistants, or depu-
ties. are hereby expressly authorized to enter upon all such private

1 owner shall have the right to have any such weeds removed at his, or
2 her, own expense, provided the same is done prior to the arrival of t e
St~eet Superintendent or his representatives to do the same, and pro-
4 vided further that such Street Superintendent shall keep an ac~ount
of the Bost of abating such nuisance in front of. or on each separate
lot or parcel of land where the work is done by him or his deputies,
and upon completion of such work shall render an itemized report to
the legislative body of the City of Seal Beach, showing the cost of
removing such weeds and abatement of such nuisance. as by law provide.
ADOPTED. SIGNED and APPROVED, this 2nd day of April, 1931.
