6 1:/HEREAS, there are groi/ing upon the streets or sidewalks or upon
7 provate property within the City of Se~l Beach, California, weeds whicl
8 bear seeds of windy or downy nature, or attain such a large growth as
9 to beoome a fire menace \/hen dry or which are otherwise noxious or
10 dangerous upon the streets or side\/alks in front of, or upon, the pro-
11 perty hereinafter described, which the Board of Trustees and City
12 Counoil of the City of Seal Beach do hereby declare to be a public
13 nuisance,
14 RESOLVED, ~HEREFORE:
15 That the Board of Trustees and City Council of the City of Seal
16 Beach do hereby de~lare all weed~ growing upon the streets or side-
17 walks in front of, or upon, the private property upon the following
18 streets within the City of Seal Beaoh to be a public nuisanoe. Th~t
19 the streets within said City of Seal Beach and the lots and block

any objechon to the proposed removal of Heeds mflY appear before the
1 Board of Trustees and show cause why said work should not be carried
2 out in accordanoe with this resolution.
That the proceedings for the aforesaid improvements shall be had
4 and taken under and in accordance with an act of the legislature of
the State of California designated and knoun as lIil.ct 519'7", being a.n

act authorizing municipalities to declare noxious or dangerous weeds
6
growing upon the streets or sidewalks, or upon private property within
7 municipalities, to be a public nuisance, or eating a lien upon the
8 property fronting, upon such streets or sidewa.lks or upon \ihioh such
9 nuisance exists for l;he cost of abating the saI'\e, and approved Hay

10 26, 1915.
That subsequent to the sald hearing the said Board of Trustees
shall order the Street Superintendent to abate said nuisance by having
12
the weeds referred to removed in the manner provided by law, and the
cost thereof shall be a lien upon the property fronting upon such stre ts
11

or sidewalks or upon whioh such nuisance exists for tne cost of abat-
ing the some, which amount shall be added to the respective assessment
for taxes against the respective lots and parcels of land for municipa
purposes and collected at the same time and in the same ~nner as or-
dinary municipal taxes are colleoted and shall be subject to the same
penalties and the same prooedure under foreolosure in cases of de-
linquency as provided for ordinary illuniclpal taxes.
The City Clerk shall cause this llesolution to be posted ln at
least three ~ublic places in the City of Seal Beach, and it sp~ll
therefore take effect.
I hereby certify that the foregoing resolution was duly and re-
gularly introduced and adopted by the Board of Trustees of the City 0
Seal Beaoh at a regular meeting thereof held on the '7th day of April,
1932, by the following vol;e:
