That t~e Street Superintendent of the City of Seal Beach, Calif- ornia, shall cause to be conspicuously posted in front of the pro- perty on Which or ~n front of which such nuisance exists at not more tha~ 100 feet i'l distance aps::>t, but not less than three in all, notices headed "Notice bo Destroy Weedsll, such heading to Od in words not less than one inch in height and substantially in form presoribed by law; That said notice shall be posted at least five dots prior to the time for hearing objections by the said City Council of the City of Seal Beach; that Thursday, the /~y of ~ 1933, at the hour of B:OO o'clock P. M. of said day is the day and hour, and the council chamber 1n the City Hall of the City of Seal Beach is the place fixed by the City Council, when and where any and all persons' having any , objeotion to the proposed removal of weeds may appear before the City Counc1l and show cause why said work should not be carried out in accordance with this resolution. -3- I~ < I _I ... ~ . . .? That the Foceedings for the aforesaid improvements shall be had and taken under and in accordance with an act of the lesislature of the State of California designated and kno\1n as IIAct 519711, being an act authorizining municlpali~ies to declare noxious or dangerous weeds growing upon the s~reets or sideualks, or upon private property within municipalities, to be a public nuisance, creating a lie~ upon the property fronting 1.1pOll such streets or sidewaJks or upon which 'such nuisa~ce exists for the cost of abatinB the same, and approved May 26, 1916. That subsequent to the said hearing the said City Council shall order the street Superintendent to abate said nuisance by having the weeds referred to removed jn the manner provided by law, and the cost thereof shall be a lien upon the property fronting upon such streets or sidewalks or upon which such nuisance exists for the oost of abating the same, which amount shall be added to the respective , ~ assess~ellts for taxes against the respective lots and parcels of land for municipal purposes and collected at the same time and in the same mann~r as ordinary municipal taxes are collected and sholl be subjeot to the same penaltLss and the same procedure under foreclosure in oases of delinquency as provided for ordinary municipal taxes.
