HomeMy WebLinkAboutCC Res 5687 2008-03-10 RESOLUTION NUMBER 5687 I A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH, CALIFORNIA AUTHORIZING APPLICATION FOR FUNDS FOR THE INTERSECTION IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (liP), THE SIGNAL IMPROVEMENT PROGRAM (SIP), GROWTH MANAGEMENT AREAS (GMA) AND THE TRANSPORTATION DEMAND MANAGEMENT (TDM) PROGRAM FOR THE SEAL BEACH BLVDn-405 APPROACH WIDENING PROJECT WHEREAS, the Orange County Transportation Authority (OCTA) has established the procedures and criteria for reviewing proposals; and WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach Director of Public Works possesses authority to nominate the Seal Beach Blvd/I-405 Approach Widening Project for the liP, SIP, GMA 2 &6 and TDM Programs and to finance, acquire, and construct the proposed projects; and WHEREAS, by formal action the City Council authorizes the nomination of the Seal Beach Blvd/I-405 Approach Widening Project including all understanding and assurances contained therein, and authorizes the Director of Public Works as the official representative of the City of Seal Beach, to act in connection with the nomination and to provide such additional information as may be required; and I WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach will maintain and operate the property acquired, developed, rehabilitated, or restored for the life of the resultant facility(ies) or activity; and WHEREAS, with the approval of OCTA, the City of Seal Beach or its successors in interest in the property may transfer the responsibility to maintain and operate the property; and WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach will give OCTA's representatives access to and the right to examine all records, books, papers, or documents related to the liP, SIP, GMA 2 &6 and TDM; and WHEREAS, the City of Seal Beach will comply where applicable with provisions of the California Act, and many other federal, state, and/or local laws, rules and/or regulations; Environmental Quality Act, and the Americans with Disabilities Act. NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: I Section 1. That the City of Seal Beach applies for the liP, SIP, GMA 2 & 6 and TDM Programs for the Seal Beach Blvd/I-405 Approach Widening Project. Section 2. That the City of Seal Beach agrees to fund its share of the project costs and any additional costs over the identified programmed amount. This action is in conformance with the OCT A Combined Transportation Funding Program (CTFP) guidelines.
