HomeMy WebLinkAboutAAC Min 2007-12-10 CITY OF SEAL BEACH Archaeological Advisory Committee Minutes of December 10, 2007 The Archaeological Advisory Committee (AAC) meeting of December 10, 2007, was called to order at 5 :40 p.m. The meeting was held in the City Council Chambers. I. Call to Order II. Roll Call Present: Members Burger, Dixon, and Fitzpatrick Absent: Members Coles and Woyjeck Also Present: Department of Development Services Lee Whittenberg, Director Mr. Whittenberg recommended that a motion be made to excuse Member Coles who is currently traveling outside the country. Mr. Whittenberg then noted that the first item of business would be to elect a Chairperson. He opened for nominations. Member Fitzpatrick noted that he would be ending his tenn on the Archaeological Advisory Committee (AAC) in June 2008, as he would be doing a lot of traveling at the end of next year. Mr. Whittenberg requested that Member Fitzpatrick serve as Vice-Chairperson until June. Member Dixon stated that he did not wish to serve as Chairperson. Mr. Whittenberg then recommended that Member Fitzpatrick serve as Chairperson until June 2008. Member Fitzpatrick agreed. Mr. Whittenberg stated that by acclamation, Member Fitzpatrick would serve as Chairperson. He then opened for nominations for Vice-Chairperson. Member Dixon nominated Member Coles. Mr. Whittenberg then stated that by acclamation, Member Coles would serve as Vice-Chairperson. III. Approval of Agenda MOTION by Dixon; SECOND by Fitzpatrick to approve the Agenda as presented. Receive and File - Memorandum Re: Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station - Installation Restoration Program - Status Report Re: RAB Project Update, Dated September 12, 2007. 4. Receive and File - Staff Report Re: City Comments Re: Concurrence With Determination of "Area of Potential Effect" and "Determination of No Historic Properties Affected" For Building 22 and Building 203 Sprinkler System Installations, Naval Weapons Station Seal Beach, Dated October 8,2007. 5. Receive and File - Memorandum Re: Seal Beach Naval Weapons Station - Installation Restoration Program - Status Report Re: RAB Project Update, Dated November 5, 2007. 6. Receive and File - Staff Report Re: Letter Report Re: Panattoni Project, Completion of Archaeological Monitoring, Dated December 10, 2007. MOTION by Dixon; SECOND by Fitzpatrick to approve the Consent Calendar as presented. MOTION CARRIED: AYES: NOES: ABSENT: 3-0-2 Fitzpatrick, Burger, and Dixon None Coles and Woyjeck VI. Scheduled Matters 1. APROV AL OF MINUTES OF August 27,2007. Recommendation: Approve Minutes with any corrections determined appropriate. Mr. Whittenberg noted that Member Burger would abstain from voting on this item, as at that time he was not yet appointed to the AAC and was not present at the meeting of August 27, 2007. MOTION by Dixon; SECOND by Fitzpatrick to approve the Minutes of August 27, 2007, as presented. Committee Concerns None. VIII. Staff Concerns Mr. Whittenberg stated that at this point he does not foresee any items for review by the AAC in the near future. He indicated that the next regular meeting is scheduled for February 2008, but there may not be the necessity to meet. He noted that if the AAC does not meet in February, the next meeting would be scheduled for April 2008. IX. Adjournment The meeting adjourned at 5:50 p.m. to the next scheduled meeting on February 11, 2008.
