MINUTES OF PLAN!TING COl1MISSION MEETING OF SEPTEMBER 2, 1964
The Seal Beach Planning Commission met in regular adjourned session
on Wednesday, September 2, 1964, in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
Present: Ray Boeger, Rudy Avila, . ,Ed Twining and Secretary John
Stratford
Absent: None
The meeting was called to order at 7:40 P.M. by Chairman Boeger.
I. Publ1cHearing - Kay Carroll, Variance from Off-Street Parking
Requirements
Kay Carroll requested a variance on a parcel described as Lots 23
and 25, Block 108, Bay City Tract for a reduction of required off-
street parking spaces for a proposed day nursery located at 225 Main
Street.
It was stated that there was a great need for a day nursery in the
city and that ample nearby off-street parking facilities were
readily available to the employees of the day nursery.
Mr. Twining moved that the Planning Commission resolve (Resolution
#2) to grant the variance to allow establishment of a day nursery
use on subject premises with no off street parking to be provided.
Mr. Avila seconded the motion and it was passed unanimously.
. II. Letters of Resignation
Letters of resignation from Dean Gemmill and William Morrison were
read and filed.

III. Other Business
The Secretary advised the Commission that the State Office of Planning
had notified him that the federal offices had given approval on the
application by the City of Seal Beach for a grant of funds to be
used for a general plan study.
There being no fttrther business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:20 P.M.
