The Seal Beach Planning Commission met in regular adjourned session on
Wednesday, January 27, 1965, in the Council Chamber at City Hall.
Present: Ray Boeger, Tom Crowley, Sutter Kunkel and Secretary John
Stratford
Absent: Ed Twining
The meeting was called to order at 7:45 P.M. by Chairman Boeger.
I. Public Hearing - Zoning of Annexation No. 64-1
A zoning map showing requested zoning for the area known as Seal Beach
Annexation No. 64-1 was presented. The Commission felt the proposed
uses to be excellent and compatible with existing neighboring land uses.
No protests, written or oral, were received.
Dr. Kunkel moved that the commission adopt Resolution No. 13 recommending
that the City Council adopt the zoning map titled "Zoning Map for
Annexation No. 64-1". Mr. Crowley seconded the motion and it passed
unanimously by the members present.
II. Street Names for Tract No. 5847
S & S Construction Co., developer of Tract No. 5847, presented tentative
street names for approval in Tract No.5847. The commission was advised
the subdivision would be known as "College Estates East" and the suggested
street names are in accordance with that theme by using names of colleges
and universities. None of the names were in conflict with similar street
names in the city or surrounding area.
Mr. Crowley moved that the street names presented be approved. Dr.
Kunkel seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by the members
present.
III. Mr. Stratford advised the Commission they are invited to an early
dinner at 6:00 P.M. on February 4th with representatives from Design
Associates. The dinner will be held at the 101 Ranch House.
IV. In reply to a request received at the last meeting, Mr. Crowley
moved that the Planning Commission, in their opinion, does not feel
that home occupations should be established in the R-l Zone. Motion
seconded by Dr. Kunkel and passed unanimously by the members present.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 8:30 P.M.
