PRESENT: RAY BOEGER, TOM CROWLEY, SUTTER KUNKEL AND SECRETARY uOHN STRATFORD ABSENT: ED TWINING . . THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7.35 P.M. BY CHAIRMAN BOEGER. THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON JANUARY 20, 1965 AND JANUARY 27, 1965 WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED. I. PUBLIC HEARING - V. G. LECKMAN, PARKING VARIANCE VARIANCE APPLICATION FROM V. G. LECKMAN, 704 SEABREEZE DR., TO PERMIT AN EXCEPTION FROM PARKING REQUIREMENTS ON LOT 22, BLOCK 109, BAY CITY TRACT. (APPLICATION NO. V-1-65) GENERAL DISCUSSION FOLLOWED. THE SUGGESTION WAS MADE TO ADVISE THE CITY COUNCIL OF FUTURE PARKING PROBLEMS IN THE 200 BLOCK OF MAIN STREET AND TO RECOMMEND ANY COUNCIL ASSISTANCE OR ACTION TOWARDS THE FORMATION OF A PARKING DISTRICT IN THIS AREA. NO FORMAL PROTESTS WERE MADE TO THE VARIANCE REQUEST UNDER DISCUSSION. THE FINDINGS ARE (1) PROPOSED BUSINESS IS WITHIN 300' OF PUBLIC PARKING FACILITIES, (2) AMPLE ON-STREET PARKING IN THE AREA, (3) OWNER ALLOWING MAXIMUM NUMBER OF SPACES POSSIBLE ON A 25' LOT, (4) OTHER OWNERS IN AREA HAVE SAME PRIVILEGES IN PARKING, (5) PROPOSED USE DESIRABLE ADDITION TO COMMUNITY. MR. CROWLEY MOVED THAT THE VARIANCE BE GRANTED. DR. KUNKEL SECONDED THE MOTION AND IT PASSED UNANIMOUSLY BY THE MEMBERS PRESENT. RESOLUTION NO. 14. II. PUBLIC HEARING - GEORGE DUFF, PARKING VARIANCE VARIANCE APPLICATION FROM GEORGE L. DUFF TO PERMIT AN EXTENSION ON AN EXISTING BUILDING WITH NO INCREASE IN PARKING SPACES ON LOT 11 AND SLY 1/2 OF LOT 13, BLOCK 108, BAY CITY TRACT. (APPLICATION NO. V-2-65) GENERAL 01 SCUSSION FOLLOWED. NO PROTESTS MADE. THE FINDINGS ARE (1) ONLY AN ADDITION TO EXISTING BUILDING, (2) DOES NOT REDUCE EXISTING NUMBER OF SPACES, (3) REASONABLY CLOSE TO PUBLIC OFF-STREET PARKING, (4) ADDITION WILL BRING BUILDING IN LINE WITH ADJOINING BUILDINGS. DR. KUNKEL MOVED THAT VARIANCE BE GRANTED. MOTION SECONDED BY MR. CROWLEY AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY BY THE MEMBERS PRESENT. III. OTHER BUSINESS 1. MRS. TRABUCO REQUESTED ANSWER TO INFORMAL REQUEST REGARDING HOME OCCUPATION IN R-1 ZONE. SHE WAS ADVISED OF ACTION TAKEN BY THE COMMISSION. 2 . SECRETARY I NSTRUCTED TO INVITE LT. COR. CORTWRI GHT TO A FUTURE MEETING FOR DISCUSSION OF NAVY PROBLEMS AND DESIRES IN HEIGHT LIMITS OF RESIDENTIAL ZONE ABUTTING THE NAVY BASE. 3. MOTION WAS MADE BY MR. CROWLEY TO ADVISE THE COUNCIL OF THE INCREASE IN VARIANCE REQUESTS FOR EXCEPTIONS TO PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR MAIN STREET PROPERTIES IN THE 200 BLOCK. MOTION SECONDED BY DR.
