Present: Absent: Tom Crowley, Ray Boeger. Suttee Kunkel }larva Lanning, Ed Tl1ining Meet1ng was calJed to ordc~ at 7:40 P.M. by ChaIrman noeger. The minutes of the meet1ng of December 1, 1965 were ~pproved as presented. I. Publ1c llearinB - Wilham E. & Norma F. Roth, V-14-65 Applicant requested a var1ance to allow an extenRion to the 2nd story of an eX1sting build1ng to the rear property J~~e on Lot 37 and Wly ~ of Lot 36, Block Cp Tract No.1. (1505-07 Ocean AV2.). Mr. Roth presented pictures of structures in the area presently built to or neRr the ploperty line. Mrs. Andresen, 1511 Ocean~ protested that this extension would project beyond hey nelr,hbor1ng build1ng and obstru~t the view and depreciate the value of h~r prop~rty. Mr. L1nnell, 1614 Occnn~ protested that the alley 'las too narrotl1 (12 ft.) for buildings to extend to the property line and would be ha2ardous for emergency and t1re veh1cles as well as large trucks mak1ng delIveries. Mr. Sutton, 1503 Ocean, favored the request slating that 1t would be an improvement. No written conmun1cations were received. After a lengthy discussion, Dr. Kunkel moved to p,rant a variance to allow an extension to the second floor to be built up to 2 feet of the rear property line. Mr. Crowley seconded the mot10n. Resolution No. 53 AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Kunkel, Boeger Crowley Lanning, Twining II. Public Hearing - Eugene A. and Betty June ~lcKeep V-15-65 Applicant requested a varJ~nce to permit 2 uncovered parking spaces on Lots 1 & 2~ Block 3 p Ray City Tract (301 Ocean Ave.). ML McKee st atcd that this property would be us~d as a res~dence for college students under a permit 1ss11ed by the college for one semester only. Slnce this use would be temporary, he requested the approval of furnishing surface parking areas wif,hout covering. Interested r neIghbors in attendance made no objec~ion on the basis that it be a temporary cond1t10n. One written communication was rece1ved from H. V. Henryson oppos1ng any relaxat10n of park1nr, requirements in a residential distrAct. Dr. Kunkel moved that the variance be grant~d effect1ve immediately until June 30, 1966. Mr. Crouley seconded tha mot10n and it passed unanimously by the members present. Resolut10n No. 54. IiI.
