HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Min 1965-03-17 . . . . e MINUTES OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF MARCH 17, 1965 The Seal Beach Planning Commission met 1n regular session on Wednesday, March 17, 1965, in the Council Chamber at City Hall. Present: Absent: Tom Crowley, Ed Twining, and Ray Boeger Kunkel The meet1ng was called to order at 7:35 P.M. by Chairman Boeger. The minutes of the meeting held on February 17, 1965 were approved as presented. I. Publ~c Hear1ng - George Duff, Park1ng Var1ance Variance app11cat10n from George L. Duff to perm1t an extension on an exist1ng build1ng w1th no 1ncrease 1n parking spaces on Lot 11 and Sly 1/2 of Lot 13, Block 108, Bay City Tract. (App11cat10n No. V-2-65) Due to improper advert1s1ng of hear1ng held on February 17, 1965, this hear1ng is being reheld to conform to all requ1rements. General d1scuss10n held. No protests rece1ved written or oral. Same findings as arrived at in previous meet~ng. Mr. Crowley moved that var1ance be granted. Mr. TW1ning seconded the motion and it passed unanimously by the members present. Resolution NO. 15. II. Public Hearing - Graham Executive BU1lding, Cond1t10nal Use Permit App11cat10n from Graham Executive Build1ng, Inc. for Condit10nal Use Perm1t to allow res1dential use above the first floor 1n bU1ld1ng located on Lots 14 and 16, Block 9, Bay C1ty Tract. (Application CP-1-65) General discuss10n. One written approval received. Quest10ns regard1ng parking requirements and m1n1mum of area of apartments brought by members of the aud1ence. Follow1ng are find1ngs and cond1t1ons by the Planning Comm1ssion. (1) Build1ng and excellent addit10n to the city and should be uti11zed. (2) Temporary res1dent1al use only. (3) Cond1t1ons: (a) Permit would terminate 18 months from date of approvel, (b) park1ng requirements - 5 spaces to serve off1ces on ground floor and 1 space for each living unit above the first floor and located with1n 300 feet of the property, and (c) res1dential use must conform to all other C1ty code requirements. Mr. Twin1ng moved that the Condit10nal Use Permit be granted w1th the above condit10ns. Mr. Crowley seconded the motion and 1t passed unanimously by the members present. Resolut10n No. 16. III. Other business Quest10n re parking in front of garage across s1dewalk made by member of audience. Advised th1s 1S a po11ce problem. Discuss10n of development of the city.
