Present: Absent: Boeger, Crowley, Lann1n~, Murphy Jones The meet1ng was called to order by Cha1rman Boeger at 7:40 P.M. 1. Pub11c Hearing - Clara and Erna Schwe1kert, V-22-67 Clara and Erna Schweikert, 301 - 17th Street, Seal Beach, Ca11f., represented by O. M. Carson, 925 Fathom Avenue, Seal Beach, Calif. requested var1ance to con- struct a two car attached garage with encroachment of one foot 1nto requ1red corner s1de four foot setback. It is understood that minimum S1ze of two car garage 1S 19 feet w1de and 20 feet long. Property is descr1bed as Lot 1, Block 216, Tract 10, City of Seal Beach, Orange County. Known as 301 - 17th Street, Seal Beach, Ca11f. Mrs. Lann1ng moved that this var1ance be granted. Seconded by Mr. Crowley and passed unan1mously by the members present. Resolution No. l59. 2. Pubhc Heanng - M1ldred P. Meuh, V-23-67 Mildred P. Meuli, 2120 Ma1n Ave., Long Beach, Ca11f., repreRented by Alexander R. Bellehomeur, agent, 6535 Cherry Ave., Long Beach, Ca11f. requested variance to perm1t construct1on of a 4-un1t apartment bU1lding and 4 garages on vacant lot SE Corner of Neptune and Seal Way, allowing a 3 foot setback from the proposed new 25 foot alley l1ne (9 1/2 foot from exist1ng alley l1ne). Property 1S a wedge- shaped corner lot, described as Tract 1, Lot 38, Block F. C1ty of Seal Beach, Orange County, Ca11f. Mr. Crowley moved that th1s var1ance be granted w1th the condit10n that the variance shall not become effect1ve until a deed is recorded conveying a 6 1/2 foot w1de str1p of land to the_C1ty of Seal Beach for the purpose of future w1dening of Seal Way Alley. l-ES (b 6 3. Lower, Ass1stant Secretary of the Company, requested a variance to perm1t future d1v1s10n of a 136 foot Ocean Avenue frontage located southeasterly of the southwesterly extension of First Street, Seal Beach, Calif. Request 1S for a max1mum of 4 lots at a min1mum width of 30 feet per lot. A general d1scussion followed concerning des1rable and reasonable lot width in th1s extremely high value area. Several ne1ghbors spoke against the requested 30 foot lot w1dth, including Charlotte Shuman, Jack Dav1dson, Dwight McFadyen, and others. Several people spoke 1n favor of the proposed, 1nclud1ng George Clarke, Lawrence Peters, Stewart Hinson and others. Crowley Mr. Becgcr moved that the var1ance be granted prov1ded that the requ1red uti11ty easement be recorded legally w1th the City, that a 100 foot rear bU1lding l1ne to be observed for future construct1on, a plan reV1ew for all future bU1ldings pr10r to issuance of build1ng perm1t, and at the t1me the bU1ld1ng plans come, Dav1dson and the BU1ld1ng Committee be not1f1ed.
