MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF JULY 5, 1967 The Seal Beach Planning Commission met in regular session on Wednesday, July 5, 1967, in the Council Chamber at City Hall. Present: Absent: Boeger, Jones, Lanning, Murphy Crowley The meeting was called to order by Chairman Boeger at 7:34 P.M. Minutes of the meeting of June 21, 1967 were approved as presented. I. Public Hearing - Jean Trava1ne, V-11-67 Jean Trava1ne, l4l College Park Drive, requested a var1ance to allow construction of a 6' block wall along the s1de property line adjacent to the sidewalk on Stanford Lane. Legal description of property is Lot 176, Tract 5847. No protests were received. Prior to interpretat10n of the Code by the Planning Commission, many similar corner lots had already constructed walls in the same manner as requested with a corner cut-off adJacent to the next inter10r lot. Mr. Jones moved to approve the request with the condition that a corner cut-off be estab11shed similar 1n size to cut-off directly across Stanford Lane. Seconded by Mrs. Lanning. Resolut10n No. 133 AYES: NOES: ABSENT: Boeger, Jones, Lann1ng Murphy Crowley II. Public Hearing - Frank R. & Dorothy L. Osborne, V-12-67 Frank R. and Dorothy L. Osborne, 903 Pres1dio, San Clemente, requested a variance to allow construction of a 3 space carport of substandard width. No protests were received. This request is similar to one recently granted at llll Seal Way. Mr. Murphy moved to grant the request subJect to dedication to the City of a 5 foot easement across the rear of the property adjacent to the alley for publ1c alley and utility purposes. Seconded by Mrs. Lann1ng and passed unanimously by the members present. REsolution No. 134. III. Plan Review - Orange Julius, Rossmoor Shopping Center, PR-8-67 Orange Ju11us presented plans for review and approval to install an ident1f1cation sign in the Rossmoor Shopping Center. No representatives were present. Mr. Murphy moved that the Plan Review be deferred to a later meeting and that a representat1ve of Rossmoor Shopping Center be invited to appear for discussion of a general plan for signs in the Center. Seconded by Mrs. Lanning and passed unanimously by the members present. IV. Other Business Letter from City Manager regarding possible future use of city property at 8th and Ocean. e . .
