The Department of Public Works strives to provide an attractive and healthy community forest for our residents and visitors to enjoy. Trees help increase property values, enhance the economic vitality of our business areas and beautify our community. To meet these expectations, the City sent out a Request for Proposals (RFP) for qualified firms to provide on-going, annual services for maintenance, removal and replacement of trees as needed within the City's Community Forest. Proposals were received from Great Scott Tree Service, Inc., Travers Tree Service, and West Coast Arborists, Inc. The specifications called for an initial term of three (3) years and could be renewed for up to two additional two-year terms. After consideration, staff believes the City would be better served by first updating the Street Tree Policy and Administrative Guidelines (Street Tree Master Plan) from January 1997 and then soliciting bids for tree trimming services. FINANCIAL IMPACT: This action will have no direct financial impact. . Agenda Item .s- .
