MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF JUNE 25, 1975
The Planning Commisslon of the Clty of Seal Beach met at a regular adJourned
seSSlon on Wednesday, June 25, 1975, In the Councll Chambers of the Clty
Admlnlstratlon BUlldlng. The meetlng was called to order by Chalrman
Lannlng at 7:40 p.m. and the Pledge to the Flag was led by Mr. Rlpperdan.
Present. Lannlng, Cook, Knapp, Rlpperdan
Absent. Schmltt (excused)
The mlnutes of June 18, 1975 were approved as corrected.
D1Scusslon of Draft NOlse Element to the General Plan.
The Secretary presented a short staff report regardlng the requlrements for a
NOlse Element, the approach that was used and general POllCY recommendatlons
that are belng prescrlbed. The Secretary then lntroduced Mr. Paul Penardi,
an envlronmental acoustlCS englneer representlng the consultlng firm of Bio-
ACoustlcal Englneerlng. ThlS flrm was retalned by the Clty of Seal Beach to
prepare the technlcal portlons of the NOlse Element. Mr. Penardl made certaln
brlef lntroductory remarks, demonstrated several pleces of equlpment used In
taklng the nOlse readlngs and revlewed the technlcal portlons of the report.
H1S presentatlon was followed by general dlScusslon durlng WhlCh several
questlons were asked.
The members of the audlence were requested to lntroduce themselves. They
were Dale Stoner, representlng the College Park East Homeowners Assoclatlon,
Delora Alchele, representlng the League of Women's Voters, and Cathle Bradlee,
representlng the Seal Beach Journal.
At the concluslon of the dlScusslon the Plannlng Commlsslon dlrected the Secretary
to schedule a publlC hearlng for conslderatlon of adoptlon of the NOlse Element
for July 16, 1975.
The meetlng was adJourned by Chalrman Lannlng at 9:10 P.M.
