MINUTES OF PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF JANUARY 8, 1962.
The Seal Beach Planning Commission met in regular session on
Monday, January 8, 1962 in the Council. Chambers at City Hall.

The meeting was called to order by Chairman Boeger at 7:35 P.M.
A formal agenda was not prepared.
NEW BUSINESS:
!!EM NO.1 - DOLBY REl.,J.UEST FOR SET-BACK CHANGE ON TENTH STREET
Mr. William H. Dolby's request for a set-back change from nine
to six feet for lots 22 and 24, Block 110 (southeast corner of
Te~th and Electric) was unamiously approved on Mr. Raines'motion.
Mr. Dolby indicated that he expects to build an eight unit apart-
ment house and provide seven parking spaces. Speaking in favor
of the change were: - Ross Morrison, 220 - 10 street (next door).
Mr. Tozier (across the street) and Mr. Trapp, businessman, at
245 Main street. l~. Dolby'S request is filed with these min-
utes as Exhibit No. ~.
1-T.E.M NO.~ - ZONING CORRECTION
LEISURE WORLD REQUEST FOR CORRECTION TO ORIGINAL C-l ZONING
Mr. Raines moved that the Leisure World request and submission
of December 13, 1961 be tabled until the next meeting, and con...
tingent upon Leisure World having a representative present to
discuss the matter. The motion was unamiously passed. The
secretary was instructed to inform Mr. Brabner of Leisure World.
ITEM NO. 3 - LIBRARY
The matter of the library construction across Eighth Street
from the City Hall was discussed. The three Commission memN
bers who were present when the request for a zoning change was
submitted in mid-196l, were unamious in feeling that the owner
promised a three foot side yard set-back, and partly based it's
approval on this fact. The Commission's strong feeling on this
matter are indicated by the copy of the letter to the Mayor and
City Council and attached to these minutes as Exhibit No.3~

The Oommission desires to hold it's meetings on the second
Wednesday of each month. The secretary was instructed to ob-
tain all necessary clearances and notify the members as to
whether the meeting would be Wednesday, February 14 or on
,Monday, Februa~y 12 in the Council Chambers.
