THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING CCM-1ISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON WEDNESDAY, MAY 19,
1965, IN THE COUNCIL CI-Wo1BER AT CITY HALL.
PRESENT: RAY BOEGER, TOM CROWLEY, SUTTER KuNKEL AND HENRY STEDDOM
ABSENT: ED TWINING
THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:35 P.M. BY CHAIRMAN BOEGER.
THE MINUTES OF THE MEETING HELD ON APRIL 21, 1965 WERE APPROVED AS PRESENTED.
I . PLAN REV I EW - SEAL BEACH CENTER CAR WASH
PLAN REVIEW APPLICATIOf'..l FROM SEAL BEACH CAR WASH, INC., P.O. BOX 200, SEAL BEACH,
CALIF. FOR APPROVAL OF FINAL DEVELOPMENT PLANS FOR THE CAR WASH IN THE SEAL BEACH
CENTER. (APPLICATION NO. PR-6-65) GENERAL DISCUSSION.
DR. KUNKEL MOVED THAT THE FINAL DEVELOAMENT PLANS BE APPROVED WITH THE FOLLOWING
CONDITIONS: (1) OPERATING PERSQN..IEL SHALL BE SELECTED AND UNIFORMED IN A foW\JNER
TO PROVIDE FOR HIGH LEVEL OF OPERATING PERFORMANCE. (2) ONE LARGE ADVERTISING
Sy;N ON THE P.C.H. SIDE OF THE CENTER WHICH SHALL BE A PART OF THE MAIN SIGN
INSTALLATION FOR THE CENTER, ONE SMALLER ADVERTISING DIRECTIONAL SIGN ALLOWED
ON BOLSA AVE. ADJACENT TO THE CAR WASH, AND NO ADDITIONAL SIGNS ORIENTED TOWARD
THE STREET WITHOUT SPECIFIC APPROVAL OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION. (3) OPERATING
NOISE LEVEL SHALL NOT EXCEED THE DECIBLE LEVEL INDICATED IN THE LOS ANGELES
STANDARDS FOR THIS TYPE OF OPERATIO\J. M:>TION SECONDED BY MR. CROWLEY AND PASSED
UNANIfIOJSLY BY THE MEMBERS PRESENT. RESOLUTION NO. 28. .

AFTER DISCUSSIO\J WITH MR. MCCUNE, REPRESENTING S & S CONSTRUCTION, AND A PRESENTATION
BY THE CITY ENGINEER OF HIS RECot+1ENDATIONS, A RESOLUTION APPROVING THE REVISED
TENTATIVE TRACT MAP OF TRACT 5723, WITH STATED CONDITlCJ'.JS, WAS INTROOJCED BY MR.
CROWLEY AND SECONDED BY MR. STEDDOM. PASSED UNANlfIOJSLY BY THE MEMBERS PRESENT.

AFTER DISCUSSION WITH MR. MCCUNE AND A REPORT FROM THE CITY ENGINEER WITH HIS
RECOlYH:NDATIONS, DR. KUNKEL M:>VED THAT THE REVISED TENTATIVE TRACT MAP FOR TRACT
5699 SUBJECT TO ALL CONDITIO\JS STIPULATED IN THE ORIGINAL APPROVALS OF THIS TRACT
BE APPROVED. M:>TION SECONDED BY MR. STEDDOM AND PASSED UNANIMOUSLY BY THE MEMBERS
PRESENT. RESOLUTION NO. 30. .
IV. OTHER BUSINESS.
SECRETARY INSTRUCTED TO MAKE COPIES OF ALL RESOLUTIONS AND MINUTE'ORDERS SINCE
ENACTMENT OF ORDINANCE NO. 628 AND FURNISH TO MEMBERS OF THE CCH1ISSION.
THE SECRETARY ANNOUNCED A SPECIAL JOINT MEETING WITH THE CITY COUNCIL AND THE
CONSULTANTS REGARDING THE MASTER PLAN ON JUNE 3RD AT 6:00 P.M.

THERE BEING NO FURTHER BUSINESS, THE MEETING WAS ADJOURNED UNTIL JUNE 2, 1965 AT
