MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF JANUARY 2, 1969 The Seal Beach Planning Commission met in regular session on Thursday, January 2, 1969, in the Council Chambers at City Hall. Present: Absent: Barton, Crowley, Lescher, Peters Lanning The meeting was called to order by Chairman Crowley at 7:35 P.M. Mrs. Lanning's absence was excused. The minutes of the meeting of December 18, 1968 were approved as presented. 1. Public Hearing - Michael W. Comminos, UV-1-69 Michael W. Comminos, 4132 Woodruff, Lakewood, requested a Use Variance to permit operation of a restaurant with on-sale liquor on Lots 27 through 36, Block 216, Tract No. 10 (1600 Pacific Coast Highway). A similar type of.non~conforming operation existed previously at this location but had ceased operation for more than three months. Plans for the proposed operation have not been received and the hearing was continued to the next meeting. 2. Plan Review - W. R. Greaves, PR-28-69 z( /' . Mr. and Mrs. W. R. Greaves, l405C Ocean ~ve., Seal Beach, presented plans for construction of a two unit apartment building on Lot 4, Block 14, Bay City Tract (1407 Ocean Ave.). Discussion of three full bathrooms for one apartment with obvious ease of converting into other units. Second story encroaches into the front yard setback. M~. Barton moved to allow the applicants additional time for revision of plans and study with the City staff. Hearing to be continued until the next regular meeting. Seconded by Mr. Peters and passed unanimously. 3. Unfinished Business Communication received from Orange County requesting conformity of name for California State Highway No.1. Mr. Peters moved that the name for Hwy. No. 1 in the City of Seal Beach be Pacific Coast Highway. Seconded by Mr. Barton and passed unanimously. Resolution No. 274. Secretary presented the revised variance application forms showing new require- ments to the Commission for their information.
