HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Min 1981-03-04 e MINUTES OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION MEETING OF MARCH 4, 1981 THE PLANNING COMMISSION MET IN REGULAR SESSION ON WEDNESDAY, MARCH 4, 1981, IN THE CONFERENCE OF THE CITY MANAGER'S OFFICE, 211 8th STREET. THE MEETING WAS CALLED TO ORDER AT 7:30 P.M. BY CHAIRMAN COVINGTON. THE PLEDGE TO THE FLAG WAS LED BY COMMISSIONER GILKERSON. PRESENT: ABSENT : Leibert, Gllkerson, Covington Knapp, Ripperdan The minutes of the February 18, 1981, meetlng were approved as submitted. PUBLIC HEARINGS A. CP-I-81, 2938 Westminster Avenue, Tom & Vickl Wench e Condltional Use PeY1mit for on-sale beer and wine in conJunction wlth a delicatessen in a former liquor/delicatessen at 2938 Westmlnster Avenue. Public Hearlng opened. Applicants, Tom & Vickl Wench, spoke briefly on thelr lntent as to the consumptlon of beer and wine on the premlses as part of a dell- food service. Covington expressed concern regarding the existing liquor license of the store. Tom Wench responded to the questlon stating the llquor llcense had been sold and the previous proprletor was ln the process of selling out the eXlsting llquor stock. Covington questioned the proposed stop light for pedestrlans on Westminster across from the dell and Post Office. Secretary replied to the questlon statlng the llght was an Englneerlng proJect that was being looked lnto at thlS time. PubllC Hearlng closed. Discusslon followed regardlng the insert of the word "only" on the resolutlon to follow beer and Wlne as a condition of the Conditlonal Use Permlt. Leibert moved approval of the CUP as amended wlth conditions and insertlon; seconded by Gilkerson and unanlmously approved by members present. ORAL COMMUNICATIONS None WRITTEN COMMUNICATIONS: Secretary passed out a copy of the BIA report regardlng affordable housing in Orange County.
