SUBJECT: ACCEPTANCE OF THE SEWER LINING PROJECT
SPECIFICATION NO. SWR100
SUMMARY OF REQUEST:
The City Council is asked to adopt Resolution No. 5795 formally accepting
completion of construction for the Sewer Lining Project, No. SWR100.
BACKGROUND:
On May 12, 2008, City Council awarded a construction contract to Re-Pipe
California, Inc, for $259,075.00 for construction of the Sewer Lining Project No.
SWR100. In accordance with the contract documents, Re-Pipe California, Inc.
has completed the project for a final construction cost of $284,945.49. Change
Orders in the amount of $25,870.49 were needed for additional underground
utility work and changes to manhole types and locations.
FINANCIAL IMPACT:
In the approved 2007/08 - 2008/09 Budget, funds were budgeted for Sewer
Lining Projects in the amount of $650,000. The original engineer's estimate for
the Sewer Lining Project was $650,000. Unused monies will be returned to the
Sewer Enterprise Capital Projects Budget.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that City Council:
1. Adopt Resolution No. 5795 to accept completion of construction for the
Sewer Lining Project No. SWR100.
2. Direct the City Clerk, to file a "Notice of Completion" with the Orange
County Clerk-Recorder within ten (10) days from the date of acceptance.
3. If no claim is made, direct staff to release retention funds of $28,494.55
upon expiration of thirty-five (35) days from the date of filing of the "Notice
of Completion".

A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL
BEACH, CALIFORNIA DECLARING WORK TO BE COMPLETED
PER CONTRACT DOCUMENTS FOR SEWER LINING PROJECT
N0. SWR100
WHEREAS, on May 27, 2008, the City of Seal Beach entered into a contract with
Re-Pipe California, Inc.; and
WHEREAS, the City Engineer has determined that the work has been
substantially completed in accordance with the contract documents.
NOW, THEREFORE, THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH
DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
SECTION 1. That the work required to be performed by said Contractor has
been completed.
SECTION 2. That the total cost of said work is $284,945.49.
SECTION 3. That the work is hereby accepted and approved.
SECTION 4. It is further ordered that a "Notice of Completion", be filed on
behalf of the City in the Office of the Orange County Recorder
within ten (10) days of the date of this resolution.

meeting hereof held on the 13th day of October , 2008 by the following vote:
