. RESOLUTION NUMBER 1390 .
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVING
AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF ZONING TEXT
AMENDMENT 6-85 AMENDING GENERAL PROVISIONS, CONDITIONS AND
EXCEPTIONS PERTAINING TO CONSTRUCTION OF CONFORMING AND NON-
CONFORMING BUILDINGS AND USES LOCATED IN DISTRICT III (SURFSIDE)
THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE:
WHEREAS, existing zoning code provisions permit general renovation
and structural additions to non-conforming buildings
through approval of a Conditional Use Permit provided
specific conditions are meti and
WHEREAS, such allowance for general renovations and structural
additions to non-conforming buildings will extend
the economic life of substandard non-conforming buildings
and may serve as a deterrent to eventual replacement
and conformance to all zoning, building and fire codes.
WHEREAS, the amendment will result in better coordination with
the Board of Directors of the Surfside Colony for
new constructioni and
WHEREAS, the Board of Directors of Surfside Colony, Ltd. requested
that the amendments contained in Zoning Text Amendment
6-85 be madei and
WHEREAS, the amendment will not cause any significant environmental
impacts as outlined by Negative Declaration 7-85i
and
WHEREAS, the amendment is in conformance with the Seal Beach
General Plani and
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission
of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve and recommend
to the City Council Zoning Text Amendment ZTA 6-85i
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the
City of Seal Beach at a meeting thereof held on the day
of , 1985 by the following vote:
