HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Res 1415 - 1986-03-19 r ' . , RESOLUTION NUMBER 1415 A RESOLUTION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT 1-86. A REQUEST TO CHANGE THE RESIDENTIAL LAND USE DESIGNATIONS WITHIN THE CITY THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH DOES HEREBY RESOLVE: WHEREAS. the Seal Beach Municipal Code currently identifies the different residentially zoned areas within the City as R-1 (Low Density Residential). R-2 (Medium Density Residential) and R-3 (High Density Residential) Zones; and WHEREAS. the staff has witnessed that the public has a general misunderstanding as to what density these designations allow: and WHEREAS. in order to facilitate interpretation the of zoning code. the City Attorney has prepared an ordinance changing these zoning designations to RLD (Residential Low Density). RMD (Residential Medium Density) and RHD (Residential High Density); and WHEREAS. on March 19, 1986. the Planning Commission held a public hearing on Zoning Text Amendment 1-86; and WHEREAS. the code amendment would alleviate public confusion and promote the welfare of the community; and WHEREAS. Zoning Text Amendment 1-86 would not adversely affect the General Plan; and WHEREAS. Zoning Text Amendment 1-86 will not cause any significant adverse environmental impact as outlined by Negative Declaration 3-86. NOW. THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve and recommend to the City Council Zoning Text Amendment 1-86.
