A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION RECOMMENDING TO CITY COUNCIL AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE INCREASING THE PERMITTED LOT COVERAGE FOR ENCLOSED STRUCTURES IN COLLEGE PARK EAST AND COLLEGE PARK WEST TO 45% AND 5% FOR AN OPEN PATIO COVER IN COLLEGE PARK EAST. WHEREAS, on September 12, 1977 the City Council directed the Planning Commission to hold a Public Hearing to consider amending the Zoning Ordinance to permit 45% lot coverage in College Park East and College Park West and 5% for patio covers in College Park East; and WHEREAS, on October 5, 1977 and October 19, 1977, the Planning Commission conducted Public Hearings on the proposed changes; and WHEREAS, five written communications were received in support of the proposed change and no written or oral communications were received in opposition to the proposed change; and . WHEREAS, the Planning Commission makes the follo~ing findings: 1. The minimum required setbacks would not be changed. 2. Increased lot coverage would permit more ground level additions.. 3. Ground level additions tend to be less offensive to the neighborhood than second floor additions. 4. A Negative-Declaration has been prepared on this project which shows no adverse effects. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission does hereby recommend to City Council that the Zoning Ordinance be amended to permit lot coverage of 45% for enclosed structures in College Park East and College Park West and to permit open patio covers not be exceed 5% of the lot size in College Park East.
