RESOLUTION NO. 1106
.
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING
COMMISSION APPROVING AND RECOMMENDING TO
CITY COUNCIL AN AMENDMENT TO THE ZONING
ORDI'NANCE FOR THE USE "HOME I'MPROVEMENT
CENTER/LUMBER YARDII AND ESTABLISHING
PARKING REQUIREMENTS FOR THE USE.
WHEREAS, the Zoning Ordinance does not address the use "Home
Improvement Center/Lumber Yard"; and
.
WHEREAS, in order to fairly treat this use it is necessary to
determine the proper zone for the use and determine a
parking standard for the use; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission makes the following findings
regarding the use:
1. Some of the activiti es at a IIHome Improvement Center/
Lumber Yardll would be conducted outside an enclosed
buil di ng.
2. There could be outside storage of lumber, sand and
gravel.
3. Many of the items sold in the building are similar
to the items sold in a hardware store.
NOW, THEREFORE. BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission does
hereby approve and recommend to the City Council the following:
1. The use "Home Improvement Center/Lumber Yard" be first
permitted in the C-2 zone subject to the issuance of a
Conditional Use Permit.

2. Parking requirements be established at:
a) one space for each 500 square feet of building
area; and
b) one space for each 1000 square feet of outside
storage area.
PASSED AND APPROVED on November 16. 1977 by the following vote.
AYES: Lanning. Knapp, Ripperdan. Cook. Covington
NOES: None
