RESOLUTION NO. 1164
A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION
FINDING THAT THE USES ZOETER EXTENDED DAY AND ARTIVITY
ARE COMPATIBLE AND CONSISTENT WITH THE INTENT OF THE
PUBLIC LAND USE (PLU) ZONE.
WHEREAS, the Seal Beach School District has property within the City of
Seal Beach which is zoned Public Land Use, PLU; and
WHEREAS, the provisions of the Public Land Use Zone limit permitted uses
to those uses onvolving Public Agencies whose main function is
providing Public services; and
WHEREAS, the Seal Beach School District has experienced a significant
declining student enrollment in recent years which may eventually
result in closing of Zoeter School; and
WHEREAS, due to declining student enrollment, a number of classrooms at
Zoeter School will not be used for regular scnool functions this
year; and

WHEREAS, a number of previously offered programs will not be provided
by the School District this year due to reduced budgets; and
WHEREAS, the School District desires to have some of these programs
offered in the unused classrooms in order to benefit students
attending the School; and
WHEREAS, the Seal Beach School District has approved Zoeter Extended Day,
a day care facility and Artivity, creative art instruction for
children as two uses that will provide needed programs, in the
school, for students attending the school.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Planning Commission does hereby
find Zoeter Extended Day and Artivity to be compatible and consistent
with the intent of the Public Land Use (PLU) Zone.
PASSED AND APPROVED, on September 6, 1978, by the following vote:
AYES: Lanning, Knapp, Ripperdan
NOES: None
ABSENT: Cook, Covington
