RESOLUTION NO. 1183 A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVING AND RECOMMENDING TO CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF AMENDMENTS TO THE ZONING ORDINANCE DEALING WITH LANDSCAPING. WHE~EAS, the City's general landscaping requirement is 5% of the site; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission and City Council have reviewed the existing landscaping requirements and are of the opinion that the City's landscaping requteement should be increased with trees provided in all private and public parking facilities; and WHEREAS, on January 17, 1979, the Planning Commission informally discussed the concept of increasing the landscaping requirement to "10% of the site plus one (1) tree for each five (5) parking stalls equally distributed throughout all private and public parking facilities;" and WHEREAS, on March 21, 1979, the Planning Commission held a duly adver- tized Public Hearing on the proposed amendments which would apply to all bon-residential zones; and WHEREAS, the Planning Commission makes the following findings regarding the proposed amendment: 1. The proposed amendment would apply equally to all non- residential zones; and 2. The amendment would result in more attractive parking facilities with the inclusion of trees in their design; and 3. The amendment would result in more attractive non- residential developments by the 10% of the site landscaping requirement; and 4. The appearance of the C$ty should materially improve by the amendment. NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission does hereby approve ,the: proposed amendments contained in the attached draft ordinance and does recommend to City Council adoption of the ordinance.
