RESOLUTION NO. 1527 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH RECOMMENDING ADOPTION OF GENERAL PLAN AMENDMENT 1-89, CHANGING THE LAND USE ELEMENT FROM OIL EXTRACTION TO MEDIUM DENSITY RESIDENTIAL FOR A PROPERTY ON FIRST STREET, SEAL BEACH, ORANGE COUNTY ASSESSOR PARCEL NO. 043-313-01. The Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby resolve as follows: WHEREAS, the California Government Code requires that cities adopt a land use element for their general plans; and WHEREAS, on December 10, 1973, the city Council adopted a Land Use Element for their General Plan; and WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment 1-89 proposes to amend the Land Use Element from a designation of oil Extraction to Medium Density Residential, as shown in Exhibit "A"; and WHEREAS, pursuant to the guidelines of the California Environmental Quality Act and local guidelines, the Planning Commission recommends the adoption of Negative Declaration 1-89 to the city Council; and WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment 1-89 is compatible with the land use goals of the city of Seal Beach, and is compatible with the adjoining area; and WHEREAS, General Plan Amendment 1-89 will not adversely affect the health, safety and general welfare of the surrounding community, and should be granted. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby recommend approval of General Plan Amendment 1-89 to the City Council, as shown in Exhibit "A", attached.
