RESOLUTION NO. 1260-,4- A RESOLUTION OF THE SEAL BEACH PLANNING COMMISSION APPROVING AND RECOMMENDING TO CITY COUNCIL ADOPTION OF ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT ZTA-3-82 TO PERMIT VETERINARY OUT-PATIENT CLINICS IN THE C-l, SERVICE COMMERCIAL ZONE, SUBJECT TO PLANNING COMMISSION DETERMINATION OF COMPATIBILITY. WHEREAS, veterinary out-patient clinics are currently permitted in the C-2, General Commercial Zone subject to the issuance of a condi- tional use permit; and WHEREAS, veterinary out-patient clinics operate as indoor medical facilities in a manner consistent with other medical uses; and WHEREAS, no adverse impacts have been encountered with existing veterinary out-patient clinics. . WHEREAS, Section 28-1400(11)(e), Seal Beach Municipal Code which requires a conditional use permit in the C-2 Zone for veterinary out- patient clinics should be repealed; and WHEREAS, in order to provide for Planning Commission control and review of veterinary out-patient clinics, the use should be permitted in the C-l Zone subject to Planning Commission determination of compatibil ity. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission does hereby approve and recommend to the City Council an amendment to the Zoning Text of the City to permit veterinary out-patient clinics in the C-l, Service Commercial Zone, subject to Planning Commission determination of compa- tibility. In addition, the Planning Commission recommends that Section 28-1400(11)(e), Seal Beach Municipal Code, be repealed.
