Resolution No. 1277
A Resolution of the Seal Beach Planning Commission
Determining and Recommending to City Council that
the Growing of Nursery Stock Be Consistent with
Section 28-400(3) of the Zoning Code
WHEREAS, Section 28-400(3) of the Zoning Code states that flower and veget-
able gardening is a permitted use in the low density residential
(R-l) zone; and
WHEREAS, ambuiguity exists regading this section as it relates to the
growing of nursery plants; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission makes the following findings:
1) The growing of nursery plants in containers can be compat-
ible with the surrounding land use.
2) The growing of nursery plants in containers will not result
in noise, dust, vibration, objectionable odors or other incom-
patible effects.
3) Article 29 of the City Zoning Code permits conditions to
be imposed to insure compatibility with any surrounding public
or private land use.
4) No on-site sales will ~ccur either ~holesale or retail.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission does hereby
determine that Section 28-400(3) of the City Zoning Code includes the
growing of nursery stock in containers and forwards this determination
to the City Council for final action.
