RESOLUTION NUMBER 1280 A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING AND RECOMMENDING TO THE CITY COUNCIL, ADOPTION OF ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT ZTA-2-83, PERMITTING 8-FOOT FENCES ALONG CERTAIN STREETS, SEPARATING COMMERCIAL AND RESIDENTIAL PROPERTY AND FOR SECURITY IN CERTAIN AREAS The Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach hereby resolves: WHEREAS, existing zoning regulations limit fence heights to six feet in height in most areas of the City; and WHEREAS, existing zoning regulations do not consider special circum- stances where residential properties abut major highways, freeways or commercial properties; and . WHEREAS, in cases where residential properties are so located, increased noise can diminish the quiet enjoyment of outdoor living; and WHEREAS, in order to reduce noise intrusion on residential properties and provide greater security, fences eight feet in height should be permitted in certain areas. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve and recommend to City Council, Zoning Text Amendment, ZTA-2-83, permitting eight-foot fences along certain streets, separating commercial and residential property and for security in some areas. PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach at a meeting thereof held on the 20th day of April , 1983 by the following vote: AYES: Commissioners NOES: Commissioners Cov;ngtona Gold@nb@rg, Smith, J@ssn@ra Perrin None ABSENT: Commissi4ners None Chairman of Planning Commission . ~~ Secretary to Planning Commission
