RESOLUTION NUMBER 1283
A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE
CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING CUP-8-83 FOR UP
TO FOUR VIDEO MACHINES IN THE BAR AND/OR WAITING
AREA OF THE RUM RUNNER'S RESTAURANT IN SEAL
BEACH, CALIFORNIA
The Planning Commission of City of Seal Beach hereby resolves:
WHEREAS, an application was duly filed by Rum Runner's, Inc., 1600
Pacific Coast Highway, Seal Beach for CUP-8-83; and
WHEREAS, the property is described as lots 27, 28, 29, 30, 31,
32, 33, 34, 35, 36, Block 216, Tract 10 and lots 30, 32,
34, 36, Block 217, Tract 10 and is more commonly known
as 1600 Pacific Coast Highway; and
WHEREAS, the proposal is to install no more than four (4) video
games in the bar and/or waiting area of the restaurant;
and
WHEREAS, four (4) video games are deemed suitable for a restaurant
of this size; and
WHEREAS, the Planning Commission makes the following findings regarding
the application:
1. The proposal involves no enlargement of the building.
2. The proposal involves no intensification of use or
of the operation.
3. The operators have complied with all past conditions
imposed by the City.
4. The restaurant is a dinner house which caters to adults
and provides no separate service to children.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission does
hereby approve CUP-8-83 subject to the following conditions:
1. Conditional Use Permit to be issued to Rum Runner's
Inc. for up to four video games in the cocktail lounge
and/or waiting area at 1600 Pacific Coast Highway.
2. Conditional Use Permit to be issued for a period of
one year with provision for renewal application at
the end of one year.
3. Location of machines to be approved by Orange County
Fire Department and a plan filed prior to installation.
PASSED, APPROVED AND ADOPTED by the Planning Commission of the
City of Seal Beach at a meeting thereof held on the 4th day of
