HomeMy WebLinkAboutPC Res 17 - 1965-03-31 . .' RESOLUTION NO. 17 . A RESOLUTION OF THE PLANNING COMMISSION OF THE CITY OF SEAL BEACH APPROVING VARIANCE NO. V-4-65 FOR INTRUSION INTO REQUIRED SIDE YARD AT 1729 HARBOR WAY. WHEREAS, in the matter of Variance Application No. V-4-65, the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does report as follows: 1. Subject case was initiated by Emily P. Greenbaum, 1729 Harbor Way, Seal Beach, California. 2. Subject proposal is for construction of an open carport extension to the rear of an existing carport. (See attached plan) The side of the existinR carport intrudes into the required 5 foot side yard, reducing said side yard to 3~ feet. The proposed extension would result in a 3~ foot side yard along the new extension also. WHEREAS, the Planning Commission findings are as follows: 1. No protests, written or oral, have been received. 2. The proposal is not unreasonable, since it will merely be the extension of an existing side line of a carport, and particularly because it is or open construction. NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Planning Commission of the City of Seal Beach does hereby approve Variance No. V-4-65, to allow addition to the rear of an . existing carport at 1729 Harbor Way subject to the following conditions: 1. Addition shall ~ encroach into the required side yard more than the existing carport side line (3~ feet from property line). 2. The construction shall be of the open carport type only, and shall never be enclosed or have solid walls erected.
